Hello,

we are a small team of indie developers and are looking for additional team members for our first project. The current team consists of six members, we have all finished, or are close to finishing our studies in various fields (Computer Science, History, Sound Engineering, Game Design).
Some information about our game idea can be found on our developers site kands-studios.com and the games website legendarybosses.com
We expect to have a first playable gamestate in about 6-9 months, which is also the least amount of time you should be able to stick with the project.
Unfortunately we can't offer any payment out front, which is also why we would need you to stick with the project until it's finished, so we can offer you a part of the profit.
A company has already been established to distribute the game, as well as being able to make a contract concering the payment if required.

What we expect from you in general is active contribution to the whole project, as we are looking for team members, not for employees.

As a programmer we expect you to have average to advanced skills in C#/XNA programming. You will be working together with another programmer, which has also build the Engine we are going to use.

2D artwork is still required in several areas such as ingame icons, user interfaces, website design or textures.

Interested?
Feel free to contact us at [email protected] or just leave a message on our website.

Do you actually have anything to show?  I saw a couple pictures on your site.  It looks like you spent way too much time on a site for a non existing game.  First playable game in 6-9 months?  You are kidding right?  This isn't paid work, you aren't going to make any money on your first project.

Start small.

Yeah I don't want to be negative but that's a fancy website for what is, at the moment, nothing. Plus your first projects should be much smaller, the kinda stuff that doesn't deserve a website.

It is true, there isn't too much in a publishable state yet, which is why we are recruting developers. As you probably know, there is also a lot (and I mean A LOT) of work that is not game logic, not animted models, or fancy graphics you put on a website. Most of that (like the game design) is already finished.
Also, there is no guarantee that the project will be successfull enough to make a big profit, but just because it's the first project doesn't mean that it can't.

first playable gamestate in about 6-9 months
As a poster above, I also wondered about this myself. 6-9 months is a very long time, especially if you say there are 6 people on the team and you have already been working on this. Perhaps you have used "playable gamestate" differently from what is generally understood, but any interested programmer could whip out a small playable prototype in a month's time. If the playable really needs that long, then for a potential applicant this would seem like an overly ambitious project without guaranteed pay. I know you are not really looking for advice, but while looking for a future project myself, this is the impression I get.

Unfortunately we can't offer any payment out front
Not to be overly pedantic, but paid work usually means "paid" per posting rules. How are you planning to split the profits of the game? Pardon the skepticism, but the (at least) 6-way split means you have to sell a lot of copies in the end.

Anyway, just my 2c.
