Just starting off a thread for a game I'm trying to work on called Dove. Had this idea for awhile but unfortunately American McGee beat me to monetizing the idea, but my game won't have poor camera work..or my name pretentiously put in the title . The game involves the player controlling the Moon and Sun, Yin and Yang, transforming the planet into peaceful world full of wabbits, sugar and hugs but not everyone likes this idea, so naturally the player must fight against the bad fokes. To spread the good stuff the Sun is employed showering down warmth on to the peons below. To fight the bad stuff the Moon must be brought up to shoot off chilling rays of death and destruction. How I want it to look like: Structures: http://www.teamequidna.com/projects/dove/Housing.swfSpherical worlds, after first seeing Super Mario Galaxy I've wanted to do spherical worlds ha. Comments, ideas, offers and criticism all welcome.

Happy co looks quite happy, but the pipes act more like cannons than pipes. To me. Maybe that's the effect you want, or maybe it's not a big concern, but it might be worth considering to have puffier rainbowclouds coming from it in a more puffily animated manner.

spherical worlds > lose (didn't want to say spherical worlds = win, but I'll still think that all the same). this looks sweet and the gist of it sounds awesome, so keep us posted.

Got an update. Still spherical but moved away from the original story concept I think. How the level should look, well it looks like this for now.

Looks beautiful, want.
Are you doing it in 2d or 3d? Because from that pic it looks more like a disc world than a spherical one. Just curious. I think I'd prefer 2d myself, from how it looks.

Thanks for all the comments. I guess you would call it a disc world Brog, as it will be 2D. I love 2D. Now I give you the inhabitants of this charming planet: Acolytes of the Sun and the Disciples of the Moon. The gameplay has changed to sending off the cult members to steal land from their opposing cullt. They then bring it back to increase their land size. The Sun and Moon will still be playable.

Ok, time for something new. It's been awhile I know but I've been busy with work and the http://www.48hrgamecomp.com/, which was pretty fun except the dumb journalist from TripleJ who described everyone but the winners as newbs and first years so according to her it wasn't really winning. Oh and the winners sounding like over confident dicks on radio. A programmer in my team works at a game studio so next time she should do her research :p. Enough with my anger here's a new picture or two. The game now has the little dudes venturing forth and collecting pieces of enemy ground to increase their own lands mass.

Looking beautiful. Is this a game about capturing territory?

Yeah, it's capturing and defending territory. It started out as a conversion game but it grew into a completely new idea. Here's the tech tree: http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/2508/67492_Cultists.phpNot too sure about the Red's brown. The coder should be able to start next week on it giving me a deadline to meet.

I suggest that you'd make the guys more varying. It would be a bit annoying to watch the same cape guys all the time. Like make those laser-shooting guys robots or something?
