HI, I am looking for a graphics artist and maybe someone to help me with coding an RPG using a battle mechanic I devised. It's called the Fatigue Battle System, and basically instead of health, you have fatigue, except wielding heavier weapons and wearing heavier armour fatigues yourself as well as blocking enemy attacks. I've made a small program demonstrating it and attached it. Let me know what you think !

HEY! What's wrong with an RPG? Do you have a suggestion as to which other genre this would work in? I think not.

what is this RPG, is there already any script or any sort of progress already done? Or is this just a general idea. If this is just it's just an idea then maybe you should actually make some plans first. Collabs fall out easily without any structure.

Don't take it badly rory, but this falls into the general category of the posts that look like: "I'm looking for people to help me...Best idea in the world...RPG." I think an RPG is a very difficult program to do. this kind of projects is generally doomed to fail. But good luck anyway Chevyray: When I read our "oh boy" I immediatley thought of Clooney in O'brother.

Yeah I suppose. Well, if I can't do anything with it after, say, a month or two, someone else can have it if they want it.

Don't be too discouraged. At least that will make you some experience. Actually you can succeed if you fix yourself some very limited goals for a start.

yeah by all means, don't give your idea to anybody else. Just keep it and work on it, but don't be surprised it you have to tear it down a couple of times and rebuild. Also, millions of script rewrites. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone, you've really given me some perspective on this whole thing. New plan: Make an RPG without fancy graphics (i.e. just the engine), then ask for someone to do some awesome pixel art. So, expect to hear from me again sometime in the next twenty years

Haha, that's the way to be. But hang around the community all in good fun around here, and there's plenty of game-design whizzes and all around goof balls. Not to mention great games. Just don't forget to introduce yourself

I'm a bit surprised you're hoping to do an entire RPG based on a battle mechanic. I mean, I could see one of those "tactics" games where story isn't important, but an RPG? I think the battle system should only aid to support the narrative in an RPG, not be at its core. And you haven't wasted a single word on such matters as setting, characters, plot etc.
So, I guess a sane thing to do would perhaps be to scale it down and make a small battle game out of it first.
