My game, however, is doing rather well. So far it's in the first post on this topic in BOLD which probably means it's second place for me.
it means that you voted for yourself I think, that's all :D :D

I'm glad people caught on to the joke. Still, I really am serious about Sexy Seaside Beachball and Sherman's Redmemtion. Both games are very, very true to the spirit of "de-makes" and got my vote! My game, however, is doing rather well. So far it's in the first post on this topic in BOLD which probably means it's second place for me.

Mine were:
Aquarium Fillauth Healthy Wave House Globe Little Girl in Underland Sexy Seaside Beachball S.T.A.C.K.E.R. VipeÜT Vectrex
But there were SO many "close seconds" that I can't even say with 100% certainty that these are the best games of the compo. ^^
However, all of the above had either great humor (Little Girl in Underland), didn't "sacrifice gameplay that could have been better for the lulz" (insider references, sticking to the original game too closely etc. (Aquarium, Healthy Wave), were cool from a technical point of view (VipeÜT) or combined all these elements into one package (while surely being topped by other titles in a single element): Fillauth, House Globe, Sexy Seaside Beachball, S.T.A.C.K.E.R.
Some games were too "hermetic" for me. E.g. I didn't pick Soundless Mountain II even though it is a great demake and well executed on a technical level but since I'm not a fan of the series so I didn't get the references or laugh at some things that might be considered true to the original but on my part struck me as bad and boring gameplay instead.

Aquarium Frefall Brass Hold Me Closer, Giant Dancer House Globe(my favorite) Katamaran vs. Dalmatian Giraffe Macarena of the Missing(my other favorite) Soundless Mountain II(got me into playing SH2) Super 3d Portal 6(great 2 player fun)
Dysaster, Protobytes, Overscan..., and Super Maria Cosmos almost entered, but didn't made it to top 8.

Darn drat and blast for not being able to play any XNA games. I'll have to track down someone with a capable computer to play them on before the voting deadline finishes.
I'm annoyed about the compatability issues as well. It's no real conselation, but the video trailer (in my sig) pretty much gives you the jist of LSVS.

@Lim-Dul
Sorry you found my gameplay bad and boring, I guess it just wasn't your cup of tea.
Anyway still haven't got round to playing all these great games, really looking forward to going through them this weekend when I get back online... Great job everyone!

Precisely. I acknowledge this as an awesome demake BUT it's not my cup of tea - just like you said. Were I to write a professional review I'd give it a high score. However, since in this case I'm only expressing my personal opinion and am NOT a fan of Silent Hill, and what follows this particular style of play in a demake, it didn't make it on my list. ^^ Don't take it too hard - the game is awesome. ^^

Okay I finally made my little score list and fortunately the number of games with at least a 17/20 score is precisely eight unfortunately the number of games above 16/20 (which makes the very good games) is 24, and it's a total of 32 games above 15/20 (which is "good") Only 5 games that I couldn't play for one reason or another (an improvement from the last compo) Well done everybody

I won't go through all my votes but my favourite so far is Macarena of the Missing. The puzzles are up to the standards of genre classics, the writing is funny, and the voice acting... I mean, recording thousands of lines of dialogue for your game is quite a feat in itself, but what struck me was that the voice acting wasn't hilariously bad, it was hilariously good.

Alright, here are my current votes:
Advanced Set the Rope on Fire Cartridge - A clever twist on a classic game. I should go back and get those easter eggs sometime. Hold Me Closer, Giant Dancer - Climbing pixels is fun. I honestly don't know why, but it is. Katamaran Vs. Dalmation Giraffe - Strangely enticing Katamari demake. At first the flashing sequences set me off a little... until I saw the sick panda! Lady Boy Love Collection - A 1D Megaman spinoff coupled with a Biocosm demake that glitches up and gives me one million points after 30 seconds? How could I not vote for that? Little Girl in Underland - A very humorous adventure game. Strangely, the concept could even make for an interesting genre if done correctly. Macarena of the Missing - Okay, if you're able to write 1096 lines of dialogue (correction - 1095, as 49.ogg was missing), perform the voice-acting, and put it all together into a game within a single month, then you have to be some kind of god. How do you do this?! Squish - 16-bit scaling effects! Far out! It's also a pretty neat puzzle game, so bravo to you! Thieving Raccoon - I see someone was a little creative with their target platform. Extra points for the cute raccoon.
Now, just a little side-note. I noticed that a few games stepped out of bounds a little in terms of system specs. Some games went for the Game Boy or NES but ended up adding physics or extra colors. It would have been more impressive if they tried a little harder to stick to the spec. There were also some entries that didn't really attempt to be very bootleg besides changing the names around. Not holding this against anyone personally, but it's just a little grievance of mine.
Also, whoa. Someone is actually voting for my game?!

I don't think anybody has figured out what the Zeppelin minigame in LBLC is a demake of yet ... it's pretty obscure though; maybe I should just come out and say it? Airship 2600?

Ah, I see. Also I'm thinking that this will be a case of coverage over quality.
