Okay, so I've finally gotten around to voting. It was pretty hard to decide on 8 games, but here's my list:
Dysaster Good fun, nice level design. I enjoyed it and would like to see more levels.
House Globe Insanely well-polished content and gameplay.
Little Girl in Underland Hilarious, that's all.
Macarena of the Missing Very funny writing and the feat of recording over 1000 lines of voice acting made me glance over some (for me) illogical puzzles.
Nobody Shooter Simple game, but well done and plain fun. The online highscore table definitely helped.
S.T.A.C.K.E.R. Most creative concept in the compo, even if I still haven't beaten the first level.
Soundless Mountain 2 Gameplay was a bit too sparse for me (yeah, I know, the source material...), but great atmosphere and sound won me over.
Squish A nice puzzle game with an interesting concept. What's not to like (well, the twitch-based levels...).
I'm pretty pissed off that I couldn't play any of the XNA entries, I'm quite sure that one or two of them could have snatched a vote from me. But well, what's a man to do...

I had to narrow it down from 16 to 8, and here's what I came up with:
Advanced Set the Rope on Fire Cartridge: A nice twist on the theme, with some thoughtful easter eggs!
Hold Me Closer, Giant Dancer: I just love the aesthetic of this one. Captures the original game's feel pretty well, considering the limitations.
House Globe: I'll echo all of the above comments saying how absurdly polished it is. It's absurdly polished! Plays really nicely, too.
Lady Boy Love Collection: An early favourite of mine. Lady Million has some really nice ideas, and the other games gave me plenty of laughs.
Offslaught '81: One of the most authentic entries (With the exception of Super 3D Portals 6, of course), and one that works really well.
Sexy Seaside Beachball: How could I not? Another very authentic demake, excellently presented.
Squish: Some really neat puzzles. And a level editor? Terry, you're too kind!
S.T.A.C.K.E.R.: Definitely the most imaginative approach to the brief, I played this for the first time this morning, and it really took me by surprise. Although the first level still kicks my ass.
Writing those mini reviews actually made it a bit easier to narrow down my selections! There are still a good 8-10 that I'd like to have voted for, though. Excellent work, everyone!

My final vote: Aquarium Fake Pigs 2 House Globe Little Girl in Underland Rocket Belt Rawr Sexy Seaside Beachball Squish Whitener A mixture of games that really impressed me (Aquarium, Sexy Seaside Beachball, Little Girl in Underland) and those that I found fun/atmospheric/addictive to play and replay (the rest). Best of luck to all competitors!

Does that mean Obama should vote for McCain?
They should have like... 68 candidates, and let everybody get 8 votes each! And every candidate should be a bootleg demake of a former candidate. JFK3000 would win it, of course, but I'd be crossing my fingers for Jessie Jackson: the rebirth.

You've done nothing wrong, and I'll defend you from any popularity onslaughts or assassination attempts from the majority. As many have written and quoted before, "democracy is the tyranny of the majority."

I don't mind the voting because for me these compos are more about fun, there are great entries in the bottom of the list. Congrats everyone.

Yep, that's why they all get an equal share of the prize money.

Congrats to all and the winner as well. Sadly I couldn't vote in this one seeing as how I wasn't able to play through all of the games but great job none the less everyone

I'll have to echo what everyone is saying here, congratulations everyone, especially superflat. I have to admit I didn't find the time to play all of them, but the level of polish on some of them and the sheer creativity displayed in others really awes me some. Personally, I wouldn't have expected Gang Garrison II to get this far, considering my track record in these compos
