Game is looking pretty sweet! I already really love the art direction! One quick question; are you planning on including elevation/ramps/etc for each room, or will they remain flat?

I am finally got to stage where I started to work on a level design. There defenately will be obstacles and different room layouts.
Probably ramps and such too, just need to find solution for rather simple melee AI preferably not involving writing proper pathfinding. Hopping? Shooting when out of reach? Hiding?

Just made it possible to shoot your own grenades and rockets in mid air.





(levels are grayboxed)

So, for the most part all systems are in place, now it is down to the content and balance. And polish.

I really can't say. My closest milestone after releasing a video is to roll out playable test version by the end of april. Then will see.

Will add more of everything, but weapons. There will be only 5 weapons.

I have made a video. It's weird.  


And quality is too low, I could not figure out how to publish it in proper hd from movie maker. And I have spent too much time trying out free screen capture software. And still haven't found good one.
But, it's a start. And it is something. Next one will be better.

I thought it was fine. Showed off the game and gave a good idea of what we're getting into. You even managed to throw in the upgrade screen that I didn't know existed.

The only thing it's really missing is music, though, I'll be honest. I thought a song was starting at the beginning due to the footsteps sounding like they were keeping a beat in between the game's other noises.

I have then noticed that I only showed boring weapon upgrades in the video, but there is things like burning bullets, lightning strike on hit and healing on a n number of hits.

I think music would be neat too! I have some thoughts about it, but not a top priority for now.

Now game have chests and keys.


Item that gives you fireball spell. Active abilities look like eyes (no pun intended)

And some plain old passive upgrade.

Really good progress! Unfortunately I feel like game is losing its simplistic artstyle for example that chest looks way too generic for such context (I hope it's a placeholder)

I can't say that I have spent too much time on that chest. So it is kind of placeholder-ish.
There is much work ahead with visuals. Now that systems are mostly working(changing floors, collecting items, abilities, weapon upgrafing, etc.) But I am kind of looking forward to it.
