Have you thought about adding low poly grass? At the moment it looks like rooms of squares and slight imperfections of the ground would do wonders to the room. rocks, pebbles, skulls cracks. by that I mean models above the ground.

I look forward to seeing your progress.

Yes, this is one of the things I want to do - work on a visual component of the levels, add some details, decorations, and such, grass and rocks maybe too, why not. Also I plan to add some more kinematic art like thingies.

Enemy visual design process, the one you can see on a previous page with placeholder model, the one that shoots in all directions:


Good thing I made placeholder first, as at the beginning I meant barrels to be high, and it was too hard to keep track of all projectiles. Also you can see that I mean to make his top part do damage to player, so it would not be advisable to jump on it. And It will have top part moving up and down, opening and closing weak point. In Fancy Skulls all enemies have weak points, for critical damage.

Interesting process. I actually kind of like the rounded-ish one in the center row all the way to the right but as an enemy, the final design probably makes more sense as it has a much sturdier feel to it.

Yeah, on some enemies they need to be tweaked a bit.

Whoaaa this is sweet! The art style reminds me of Kentucky Route Zero a little bit (which is also a gorgeous game). Keep up the good work!

How has this been going?

I had a break for 2 weeks or so, haven't done much, but now I'm working again, making bosses for end of the level. Have three of them coded, but not modelled, with placeholder art. Probably will make about 9 for now. Then most likely some tweaking and another test build.

There is now 7 weapons in the game.
By slots:
1. Revolver
2. Shotgun or flamethrower
3. Smg or laser pistol
4. Mortir or Cannon.
