Thanks I'm just fiddling in the demo, switching controls around based on your suggestion above. Not sure which to use for the block-grab

Well, I played the demo some, and its pretty nice so far. However, I did encounter quite a few glitches involving moving platforms. I think I got most, if not all or them on recording, so hopefully I could get it uploaded soon. Well, I hope you get this done, either with or without the Kick Starter money.

Cheers man, yeah send me any feedback or bugs you find and I'll get 'em squashed. 3 days left of the Kickstarter. Went from 34% funded to 78% in the last 4 days (probably due to the new Dizzy announcement), so things are looking good. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/409406442/spuds-quest

Hey people, I've got a new website for the game (including a message board) at http://spudsquest.com. The game is going fine, I'm just trying to wrap up the Water Temple to put a tester build out (in about a week). To fill you in a little, the temple is the second in the game and is submerged deep under the ocean- there's a kind of Atlantis vibe to it. It's not all flooded, but progressing through it will mean messing about with the water levels to reach higher up.

Been a while... Anyway, game is a little over the estimated release period, but I've been far from slacking :3 Currently just toning up the overworld story/puzzles/dialogue, then onto more music tracks. Hoping to get betas of the game out within a couple of weeks. What are my options for selling it? Anyone had success just selling a game direct off their site maybe using some kind of Paypal checkout?

You could try getting it on desura or steam? check out Fastspring or Gumroad, they offer pretty cheap digital download service, they only take a small percentage per transaction but it means people can buy right from your website.
Im in the same boat really, i have never sold a game but im only weeks away from finishing after 2 years of development. Let me know how you get on, i would be very interested to know.

I've got the game on Greenlight, it's been stuck at about half way for months lol. I have heard retro-ish games seem to struggle on there in general unless they've got a big following?
Maybe it'll pick up once the game is done and people play it but I'll check out them other platforms too.

As I look at indie games on my channel often, I made a first look of Spud's Quest to further promote the game

I was a backer on kickstarter, I can't wait to play the finished game, I'm still a huge fan of the "Amiga/PC-DOS style" sprite art.

Thanks mate. As an update, final betas have gone out to the testers, so should be done within a month. Also I've put a new site up for the game, which includes a newer trailer: Trailer #2 -

Spud's Quest will be released on Sept 14th 2013. Game is practically finished, but I've gotta go away for a couple weeks. Here's some music tracks from the game, let me know what you think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydEc6jHs5Ao
