Hmm... not sure about Chzo.
The whole Chzo Mythos has a somewhat more serious tone to it than the other games featured. Be a little unusual as a moustache-twirling baddie, and little better as a bizarro villain. He's nasty, alright, but in retrospect Cabbadath seems a strange choice for a playable character. Still wouldn't mind seeing him, just considering his history.
Sexy Hiker's amusing, though.

I also immediately thought of Sexy Hiker as a main villain, don't know why, maybe because he's so weird and twitchy, he'd totally go for a mad psychopath

At first I didn't like the idea of Sexy Hiker as a villain, but he's growing on me. I can kind of picture him slouched on a black throne with his hammer leaning against the wall to one side. It would be a great twist, too, if he was kept as a generic 'shadowy dude who other bad dudes report to' and then finally revealed.

Those villains are too obvious, Sexy hiker would be one heck of a plot twist

1) I doubt that we could get permission to use commercial characters, especially if they're portrayed as bad guys.
2) The game should celebrate the awesomeness of indie games, not belittle commercial games.

IWBTG already does that, in a way. I think we should find something different.
I like the idea of a progression of linked battles, but I think we should stay away from a full-blown adventure mode until we've really finished everything else. It'd be easy to think up some crazy adventure through the indie universe, but then we'd be progressing farther and farther from the multiplayer experience this is aiming to be in the first place.

We must have a Grue boss fight.
In a pitch black stage with just a little light halo around the playable characters.

Something to think about for a story mode. I assume at least some of you have heard of Newgrounds Rumble before, right? It's basically an indie brawler focused on popular Flash characters from (as you might imagine) Newgrounds.com. NegativeOne later took the engine and made a fighter/platformer out of it called Terrascape. So... ..you know what? Never mind. I actually didn't enjoy Terrascape that much. I don't even know I brought it up.
