ZX Spectrum BASIC -> Q BASIC -> Visual BASIC -> C++ -> C -> C++

with Java,Python and AS2/AS3 picked up somewhere along the way

Amstrad CPC BASIC > ZX81 BASIC > ZX81 ASM > AMOS > AMOS Pro > C++ > Amiga E > QBasic > C++(windows) > Game Maker(4.0) > BlitzMax > Game Maker(6.1/7.0).

This can be condensed to two steps(i.e. removing the languages I never got good with) :
CPC BASIC > AMOS Pro > Game Maker(6.1/7.0).
