Make a touchdown! Don't get tackled!

- arrow keys to move
- press 'x' to summon Blockhamut

Music by Sos.

Windows download
OS X download

My game is (sort of) RPG-meets-football, well, really it's an action game with random encounters  Tongue (it was also my Fuck This Jam game).

I'm not very good at programming so this has been really good practice for me.

I've got it playable now, with an overworld, win/lose, enemies, and music by Sos.

Heh, really silly. I got more of a shmup vibe rather than an RPG one, though.

Thanks! I wanted to add more to it like player drafting, players and coaches on the bench waiting to give you quests, some how incorporating teammates and passing, and turn-overs. I was super busy this month with Segazine and updates to Pixel Fireplace so I didn't have time.

You know what I like the most? That it's about SPORTS :D

Most of the other games (including mine) are based on some sport concept and then turned into something else, which is nice and good, but this... has the power of ROOTS  Toast Left

Neat little game.
It was fun to play, but agj said, it looks more like a shmup than a RPG (which is fine too)

I didn't get why I could go on when I was hit by an opponent, but I guess the goal is to have the best score (which is zero).
I love the graphics and I would have enjoyed to play something longer (but if I got it right, you only got one week, so that's already pretty impressive).

@Pierrec It's based (loosely) on American football rules. You get 4 downs to make a touchdown before the ball gets turned over to the other team (I made it Game Over at that point). I decided not to include the rule that makes your down-count start over every 10 yards.

@Felipzille thanks, I loved

for NES and wish modern sports games were more arcade-y like they used to be, with great sound tracks.

Very short funny game :D I liked the fast paced gameplay and the tightness of the action. Nice job!

Thanks! Smiley I'm still a beginner programmer learning a little at a time. This was the first time I've used arrays.

It's a neat idea.  It would be fun to see it fleshed out with more typical RPG elements.

Well I wasn't epecting that, in a good way. I didn't need blockhamut to get a touchdown which probably means it's a bit too easy at the moment. It's an interesting concept and could probably be explored further. Any plans to continue with it? Good stuff Hand Thumbs Up Left
