I LOVE that wallpaper/concept art image! Have you thought about doing a non-pixel version of the logo for publicity purposes? I realize it would conflict with the art style of the game, but for some reason I want to see the game logo on that wallpaper image in a more vector looking format.

I'm really loving the pixel art in this game. I find it amazing how human imagination fills in the gaps w pixel art. Some of the screenshots have my imagination going off to cool places. I look forward to playing this.

Traveling by foot will probably be your main way of moving, but there will be additional context specific options, e.g. building a raft to cross a river. There will also be a hot air balloon to do some scouting. Actually there is a small hint to it already in our banner. :D
Had an idea on the balloon scout- make it`s map distorted, not accurate(maybe 60 or so % accuracy, or even lower) so when the player goes exploring on foot, he/she has an element of surprise when He/she gets to some part of the map.

Thats a really good idea. Having various levels of imperfect information is an essential part of our game. We achieved a big milestone today, which was finishing up a project description to apply for governmental funding. Even though the "only" outcome to this was a thick document, this was super important for us. This could potentially, if we get accepted, flatten out our way towards being able to work fulltime on the Curious Expedition. Vine of me going through the document

Small update - After a long time of solely focusing on Business Development, we're slowly building up speed on working on the game again. In case you have missed the tweet, we'll be doing a Femcrunch! A Femcrunch is a period in development that is solely dedicated to improving the presence and portrayal of female protagonists in a game. Check out the blogpost that explains the whole thing on our tumblr.

Interesting concept & look forward to seeing more. Also, I really like the parchment/map style of unexplored hexes, so good job on that.

While you are femcrunching are there any female natives? BTW great blog post! Thanks a lot! Yes, there will be female natives. We're still evaluating how we are going to do portraits of natives, whether there is just going to be a set of possible portraits for each tribe or if we are going completely randomized with facial features and such. I guess if we do the randomized approach we'll stick to one gender per tribe, but the option to have, for example, tribes that are only represented by women (matriarchy?) is also interesting.

Why would you stick to one gender per tribe?!
From my understanding, most human populations tend to include people of both sexes...
