Why would you stick to one gender per tribe?!
From my understanding, most human populations tend to include people of both sexes...
That would be a sole feasability reason. If we do random faces, we'll have a lot of work creating the different parts of a face (let alone, the different tribes themselves) and having both genders in that would probably be beyond our scope. But that's just a rough, conservative guess.

Amelia Earhart - Pilot Mary Kingsley - Explorer Gertrude Bell - Explorer, Spy Alexandra David-Neel - Explorer Dion Fortune - Esoteric Freya Stark - Explorer A few ideas for playable female characters. Earhart and Bell seemed like especially strong candidates. The game looks great so far. Please let me know what you think.

I guess I have to post again to get rid of that manbaby. If you're looking for the lost city of Atlantis, you're probably going to need one of those clunky old-school dive suits. Enjoy the fan art.

Those characters are super, super excellent! You nailed our style perfectly, this is ridiculous. Let me think about a proper reaction to this for a moment. Oh, one thing I can already, wholeheartedly say is: THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hey guys, thank you so much for the high praise. I had a great time putting these together.
The game looks like it's heading in an awesome direction.
Good luck with the funding.

Those would all be great additions, I'd especially like to see Amelia Earhart added. The "mystery" around her demise would seem to be a good fit for this game.

Devs, what are you thinking for audio? Are you considering voice actors?

No, I don't think we'll have the ability to get VO into our game. That's just way out of budget for what we are looking at - why do you ask?

Also, I'm not sure that voice overs wouldn't clash somewhat with the pixelated graphics style.

This is such an interesting concept. Any thoughts on doing a Kickstarter or otherwise increasing the visibility of The Curious Expedition?

AF, I think you effectively sabotaged their femcrunch. In a good way

Good luck, looking forward to a build! The project makes me feel a bit like Ultima and Hugo at the same time. I'm actually reading Journey to the Center of the Earth with my son right now, maybe I'll give him this to play when it's done.

AF, I think you effectively sabotaged their femcrunch. In a good way LOL. Yes, he somehow did - which is actually pretty awesome. I still plan to pick it up, at least for showing the new, complete cast with an equal gender disribution. However, I got a little distracted, we're currently preparing our new website design (to finally replaces that very, very basic "thing" we have right now) Anyway, #Femcrunch is not over yet, stay tuned.

Will this game have A.G Bell in it, and also(from a mockup a few pages ago), how do you plan on generating the rivers on the edges of the hexfields?

Hey, Bell is also an excellent suggestion. As to how we'll generate rivers, I best hand this question over to quixotic
