Just wanted to let you know that we've released a demo of our game, which can be played right in your browser without plugins or extra downloads:

Thanks for everything! This devlog and your kind feedback have been fundamental in giving us the believe that were working on something interesting with this game.

Congratulations on release!

I tried out the demo and noticed I felt rather lost for a big chunk of the demo and relied very heavily on the guiding text to progress. I actually remember feeling consciously relieved that I was there as a 'resting spot' for my eyes. Aside from that though, I love the art and sound! It's like a modern day Mother Goose!  WTF I got so excited when I realised you can investigate each of the characters in the exploration scenes!

Anyway, I hope this helps!  My Word!

Hey no update in looong time!

Just wanted to quickly inform you that we're currently working on Curious Expedition 2! We're working with a publisher for the sequel (Thunderful) and the team size has grown from just the two of us to around 7 people working on the sequel in-house and about 5 collaborators freelancing on it. It's quite exciting and we'll be going into public alpha towards the end of the year.  Smiley

And yes, we're switching our graphical style to be more comic-like for the sequel. Looking forward to your impression: https://www.thunderfulgames.com/games/curious-expedition-2/

But that's not all: We're also working on an exciting project management tool for game developers called Codecks now. It's the tool we wished would have existed when we started our company. You can read more about Codecks here: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=68434.0

Cheers!

Fun fact: CE1 was already inspired by ligne claire, but done in pixel art. Now we're stepping closer to our inspiration. Smiley

I finally wrote a big blog post about all the tools that we used during the production of The Curious Expedition. Maybe it's interesting to somebody here: https://www.codecks.io/blog/2019/creating-a-hit-steam-game-in-html5/

Cheers!
