Why are you looking specifically for Unity developers?

Why are you looking specifically for Unity developers?

Mainly for portability. That, and it's a powerful tool with many assets ready to use. Many tools are there so you don't have to make them from scratch. It accelerate development time...!

But, why not?

Are you looking for just a script monkey or do you need someone to work the 3d editor as well? Depending on project scope I could make you a few scripts and prefabs, but I have no interest in doing full blown level creation.

It seemed kind of weird that an artist, who's technical knowledge is inferieur to a programmer, is making technical demands.
There are more ways to be multiplatform, and you might scare off some people.

What I find really weird is that people who aren't involved with the project are hassling the project creator for decisions he made.

If you wanted to join the project and that Unity requirement was standing in the way, I could understand trying to convince him to move to your engine of choice.

If Unity was unsuited for the task, I guess I could also understand it.

But neither of those seems to be the case here.

I've been watching this thread and the art is fantastic.  I expect this will be a great game.  Unfortunately, I'm not confident enough in my Unity skills to take on another project...  Especially since I'm already working on a couple.  (1 for me, 1 not.)

I apologize if I was coming across negative, didn't mean to bash the op. I just felt like he could attract more interest if he loosened up his techical requirements. But yeah, unity should also be perfectly fine for the project.

No worries. There are many good reasons why I want it to be made with Unity (I have many programmer friends) but if someone is really interested I'm open to other options.
