Yes.  There is an SD card adapter built in to the Wii, but last I checked, you weren't able to put games on SD cards yet.

Actually, you can transfer Virtual Console games to SD cards. It's just a matter of having the system think that your copy of a hacked SMB is the same as your regular copy of SMB.

Also, it's got USB 2.0, so Nintendo could easily release a storage backpack for the unit.
