Looks fine, are you doing playtesting with real player to adjust the game?

Before yeah, it was for the FPS testing

But i'm not the best at infinite runners

There will be a great proper beta test with newgrounds program before releasing it.

Now , i'm testing my IA stuff , and check for errors and also gameplay phases

You can ride on water ocean , the heroine chinue made it into my 2009 anime



I was reluctant to do it but it would be illogical if we talk continuity (the game happens  some years after the anime )

if something crushes you into the water , you dies tough (physics ! )

i'm working on summons now
It doesnt work well , i think the sprites are too big haha (they dont appaear in screen sometimes )
Will be fixed very very soon.

I hate you can bring up giant animated sprites !!

I agree with @gimymblert.  While it may be different playing a game than watching it, it's really hard to see what is going on in the last video.  The previous videos seem better.  Probably because there's less moving items on screen.

Think of it like overdetailled drawing, it doesn't make it good but when you start that's all you can imagine, then you learn to hierarchize form and all. SO finish the game and just get better over time lol.

I don't think it's that kind of visual we are talking about, it's about the interactive lisibility, the graphic lisibility is okay, you are a talented artist. However reading the action and knowing what to do is kind of obfuscated through a ton of noise. It's not like traditional animation or drawing (or it is, show one thing at a time, do one thing at a time). You should look at UI and UX principle to get better here, there is many resource on internet with many specific to video games.

It was about exploring in 3d games ?
Funny thing , it reminded me some art classes i got 13 years ago.

ANyway
Soon a beta to test , no tutorial yet , it will be about performance , FPS , i worked super hard and recoded many things , i truly hope it's more fluid now

I haven't played many endless runners, but this looks beautiful. The colors, the various monster-like entities, and stuff is like ominously shaking around... I'd like to try a demo. Smiley

It wont be a demo , actually it's a minigame , free with ads in the beginning , that's it
It will be like canabalt -> 1 infinite and endless level until you die + 1 hero to play to make the best score !
If people enjoy it , of course i'll come back with a more ambitious game (with more giants to fight , a proper scenario , exploration etc etc etc )

beta will display a bit of the RPG element of the game , unlock double jump, improving the SUPER attack , etc

Yeah I was looking about video for the general concept of action priming, but couldn't found something,  I kind of spite share stuff but what you need is an indepth game design lesson to improve. The video allude to the fundamental but I can see how you will be confused as what's the link with your game. THe main idea is information density and controlling them, the video show different case of this, but your game isn't STRICTLY like this, so turning this abstract concept and translating to your game will be difficult without a deeper understanding.

I think that going for action game don't play into your key competence. They are full of nuances that can work against your key talent, they need deep understand:
- of how to achieve stable framerate
- input latency
- information design
- encounter design
- progression and challenge gradation

Discussing with you show that you don't really grasp these fundamentally in how they applied into games and their design. Of course I say that because that's my specialty lol Also endless runner are something that looks simple but have some quite advance design relative to someone just starting making game. Basically design is your weakness (not your idea of game). Story games, adventures and rpg would suits you better and better display your key competency (lush visual) as technical problem in action game can attract a lot of negativity and slow the spread. In fact making video works best for these kind of actions.

But I won't tell you what to do, I just want to see you progress, I should take some times to correctly deconstruct what's happening in what you are showing us. I don't have enough time in a day lol.

Anyway this video walk you through the design of a endless runner game, pay attention about what they care about to design, they talk about the game parameter, how things are space out to create an experience, how thing are conveyed, anticipation of obstacle and effect on pacing, windows of actions, etc ... :





BUT STILL, if we abstract all of that, it's great lol

Windows 10 have a serious issue with my game or else

I was trying to code since months to find a way to reach constant 60 fps
And it seems my windows 10 either have a ton of viruses or what cause i tested today by chance my game on windows 10 safe mode and i have constant 60 fps
My safe mode was fucked up cause no sound unfortunetly but i couldn't believe my eyes

I dont get it
Windows normal, classic mode : 10/20 fps
Safe mode : 60 fps ?


WTFFF

erλm there is a fuckin hero !!!

I changed the power options to Normal (my laptop was on economic the whole time and i deleted all nvidia cause angry lol )

And since i have 50/60 fps locked Grin Grin Grin
It changes everything , i'll continue tomorrow
That explains a lot of things OMG (cause sometimes my play was 60 and then not , especially when Power electricity was low )

I can even launch two builds and have 60 fps on each O_O'

I'll post some good updates

the beta will be up and will be about the framerate you got
So guys before put your laptop on Normal options or maximum power if you have bad fps with my minigame

I'll go bed , i'm dead. Smiley
