If all goes well I'll be seeing it this Friday. It better be awesome, because seriously:
3/5 Iron Man 3 3/5 Man of Steel 3/5 Gangster Squad 2/5 Now You See Me 1/5 A Good Day to Die Hard
Every blockbuster I've seen this year has let me down so far (and I haven't seen anything but blockbusters yet, though The Place Beyond the Pines, Before Midnight, and Mud all look interesting, especially the first two).

Main theme I LOVE DIS Seriously? If the movie is at the level of this music, it's not worth it.

I'm sure Pacific Rim owes a large debt to a number of animes and monster movies I haven't seen or even heard of, but that doesn't make it any less impressive (and besides, what fictional world doesn't owe a large debt to tons of other things?) count how many times del toro says 'anime' tbh i felt that knowing the references and influences of pacific rim really increased my appreciation for the film.

well, after earth is pretty terrible, and everyone likes pacific rim, so you'll probably like after earth more. unless the enjoyment you'd get out of liking a movie that nobody else likes is less than the enjoyment you'd derive from criticizing about a movie that everybody else does like, in which case you should see pacific rim.

Pacific Rim was good, but too hollywood and not anime enough, but still anime-and-not-hollywood enough to be like "awww" but
1) shaky cam, please stop 2) LET ME SEE THE THINGS IN MOTION DAMMIT SHAKY CLOSE CAM AT NIGHT WITH DEBRIS AND WATER 3) dont make the first 3 fights that one-sided, especially not against the robots 4) super attacks were not super enough. you have to make super attacks more super 5) middle fight against fat gorilla and crawl-flyer was best part, last fight was underwhelming, ended too fast 6) stop ripping the arm off. you cant do it twice!!
i guess i could say more. idk. it was fun!

The effects artists are using my keyboard! Wooo Also I agree with all the stuff monster king said, it annoyed me a lot when I felt like all I could see was a shower of water drops and debris, which was probably like 20% of the movie's total running time
