The Way of Yiji is being released along with other 8 games in a short album (Initiation).

The album reflect the production in a period of a year and a half.  The intention is to show a process more open, where holdings of jams, prototypes, tests and ideas are shown. I believe this can help us to always improve, considering that we have little time for the development of games, but it has become a wonderful hobby.

In the general we were very pleased, because many issues were evident when we have assembled games all together, making evident successes, failures, cool stuff, boring, problems and difficulties. We think that everything closes this initial cycle that began with The Way of Yiji and Flick (the game of my colleague Vinicius Sanches).

We created a "band", the Schizoid, and put them in a album as if they were the tracks of songs. A prank and, somehow, an open methodology that shows the process.

The idea is to release an album of short games every 2 years. This inaugural album called Initiation and obviously alludes to those starting this fantastic and unique universe of gaming process.

Hi guys,
this is my first attempt in the game world, a short platformer game under construction.
I think in an exploratory and contemplative game, with stealth ideas and collect of itens
i'm working in the levels design and testing palette colors, immersion atmosphere, particles effects and enemies.
Any suggestions and critical are welcome....

Yiji need to find your lover,,, Alaïs,,, the dark matter separated them and is occupying the whole universe.
Yiji can use light to protect themselves.
The enemies are particles compositions with diferent weapons.
Yiji will feature seven guides on this journey, light particles of existence that will teach you the ways for its conquest.

Especially the cave scene looks very beautiful. Love the atmosphere!
I am not sure about the black rays in the mountain scene though. Do they have a purpose?
These last ones and the Gardener from the first post is my favorites so far.

Btw, Have you tried to have a tiny tint of some saturated colour on the lightrays?

Looking forward to more updates!

@ rickardwestman: the black rays are natural enemies to Yiji,,,, and the white rays to protect him.
This black rays appear and disappear in all levels,,, 
Colours on the lightrays looks interesting,,,  i will test surely.

mechanics. 5 zoom out. player controls a pixel in the fifth zoom,,,the relationship between screen and the player becomes strange,,, interesting...

Is there music for this? I'm feeling an organic/commodore-eque sound track that takes some cues from okami. Subtle, ambient and haunting melodies

@shinnymetal: sound design in progress,,,, work with sound is very very difficult,,,, another type of complexity in gamedesign....

I did the alpha version with two levels (intro + level I) / total of six.
I m testing atmosphere, gameplay, levels, graphic art and sound aspect.

If anyone wants to test it, please download file.
