Hi guys,

Ensign-1, a space arcade sim I've been working on, now has a demo available at
http://www.desura.com/games/ensign-1

I'd love to get some of your thoughts on how it plays. Whether or not you enjoy the flight and combat mechanics, and the ability to leave your ships and steal another fighter.

Let me know!

Oh god this looks awesome.

Could you please put a hardcore mode with mouse cockpit controls (enviro-bear 2010 style)?

I'm always amazed at those games, because I was never able to figure out how to have proper free rotation and to get rid of gimbal lock problems.

I think you just use quaternions.

And no sorry, I definitely won't be putting in cockpit controls you interact with via the mouse. Not that it's not a cool idea, it's just out of the scope of what I'd have time for. If it were just for the eject button though or such, I'll admit it would be cool.

Of couse you don't have time to do that  Cheesy . I just got carried in my tigsource cockpit competition nostalgia when I saw the dashboard I guess.

As for the quaternions, even if I'm pretty sure there must be a thousand posts explaining that in Technical, I never really took the time to understand how it all works.

Anyway best of luck with your game, it looks really neat as of now  Wink
