I'll be honest, I didn't like it to the point I just quit after playing a few levels, and the jump is really annoying.

Karoshi 2.0 still remains as the magnum opus

You can tell that it's not actually made by 2DCube. That's what I think at least.

Especially when the creator is named karoshi and not 2Dcube.

The game is too cheap anyway, to ever live up to the greatness that is Karoshi

I don't know who made it, but there are some very nice puzzles in the later levels.

Just wondering if the game has timing problems, because it seems to run pretty fast here which makes some puzzles rather hard.

I think it's pretty good. What exactly is wrong with it?

Also, it's official, Jesse has mentioned it on his YoYoGames page: http://www.yoyogames.com/members/2Dcube

EDIT @CraigStern: It's probably that Flash games aren't indie enough.

Almost all of the puzzles are taken from the earlier games Huh?

I noticed that too, I cleared the entire game because of that.

Quote from: Jesse Venbrux on the indiegames blog
I want to point out this is the first Flash version of the game.

If you've played the GM versions it might feel less interesting. It's more introductory for the Flash crowd and not as "outside-the-box". I hope to change this for the second Flash version though. Hope you like it anyway. Smiley

It's intentionally a recap ... there are a few puzzles I thought were new, though.

The exploding boxes are definitely new, and I like them. They'll be a nice addition to new Karoshi games.

Also, he mentioned on his profile at Yoyo that he's working on Karoshi 3, so we might get to see that soon Beer!

i have a mac and boot camp broke a few months ago, after downloading but before playing the originals (guh.).  so.  hooray for flash!  same way i feel about xWung.

i wish yoyo games would release that mac port of gamemaker already.

There're a lot more reflex-based puzzles around this time.  Don't know what I think of that.  Probably residue from working on Karoshi Factory (which didn't do too much for me).  Some were duplicated, but I liked some of the new ones.

It doesn't have a lot of the WTF-ness that made Karoshi 2.0 great.

Karoshi 2.0 was great for that reason, yes, but I wouldn't want to see another Karoshi game which is purely in that style. He explored the concept so well in 2.0 that everything after that would probably feel like a cheap rehash.

This Flash game on the other hand went back more to the "inside the box" puzzle roots, especially during its middle levels, and I enjoyed that a lot. There were some very good puzzles where you were dumbfounded as to what to do until you had that flash of insight that marks all very good puzzle games. The few "WTF" levels at the end were more or less all direct rehashes of Karoshi 2.0, so I didn't enjoy them that much.

I felt a lot of the puzzles relied on precise timing, and that doesn't work as well in Flash as it does in GM -- it's less responsive, the controls are looser.
