Update 3-7-2013 - In recent news we got Greenlit, so at some point inthe next few weeks you can get Anodyne on Steam. We also will be on GOG soon. At some point after that, I'll be releasing the Android version in some fashion. Note thegame is still $9 direct from me, $9.99 elsewhere (Just adventure, GamersGate, Desura).

These builds will also have controller support. Linux is a little janky but it'll be there.

Finally!

Devlog here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=26260.0

In Anodyne, you explore and fight your way through nature, urban and abstract themed areas in the human Young's subconscious, evoked by a 16-bit-era visual style and a moody, dream-like soundtrack.

Hi TIGSource.

Anodyne is on sale for $8 until Feb 11th, via our store, Desura, and eventually GamersGate.

You can also buy the soundtrack for a small fee.

Sean Hogan (me) and Jonathan Kittaka made Anodyne. This devlog spans from two months into development, to meeting Jon, to finishing and releasing the game.

I primarily worked on programming and audio, Jon on dialogue and artwork. In terms of splitting up the game design, I did most of the dungeon design, outside-dungeon level design was a largely collaborative process. Jon and I worked together on the game's themes, he created the story to, in conjunction with world design and aesthetics, convey those themes.

I'm really liking this so far.  I like how open the exploration feels.  I even had a "I think I might have explored too far...where the hell am I?  Well, guess I gotta keep going deeper" moment when I killed that fisherman and wound up in hell.

There's also some pretty cool enemy design in this.  I had a moment of surprise when I first ran into one of those bats, as I was expecting it to behave like keese.

Also, I enjoyed the moment when I realized I could use dust as a raft

I'll definitely buy and play this when I have some free time. I've been lurking on its devlog for a little bit and it looks fab.
