This reads as if you were looking for someone to work for free (or "Portfolio piece") while you, quote, market and monetize the result for yourselves. Wait no, there might be future employment in it, perhaps even paid!
Correct me if I'm wrong, OK?

So just one part to clarify: What would this, uh, "other compensation" be exactly?

I can see where you might interpret the original post in that way. The only reason it is worded in that way is because, like most indie projects, we cannot promise compensation even through rev-share; these options are indeed available.
