Nah, don't worry about it man.
It's just the word shock.
Not much they can do about it. If you called it system shock 0.5 on the other hand...
By the way, when can we expect something to play??

Well, the game is fairly quickly nearing completion. I don't want to spoil much but almost the only things left are the story elements, bosses, levels and of course, sound. We are fairly happy with the game's current state after two weeks (I still can't believe it)
The biggest focus at the moment is getting the game complete and 90% bug-free. Then it's all commercial stuff we got to take care of. And then... RELEASE!
Also, I should also make it clear that Starshock will be out on Windows, Mac and Linux simultaneously

Are you looking to release a final version? Or more of a playable beta that you keep developing?

I don't plan to get a public build to be honest but I decided to get another build out of the testers very soon

Hmm. Let me rephrase my question:
Are you going to release this and be done with it?
Or are you going to release it and keep developing it (similar to Cortex Command, Minecraft, et al.)?

Oh, sorry, it's my brain being stupid... I think I'll be done with it, simply because my school is going to take up a lot more time than it will be for the next 2 weeks and that just means that I can't really work on the game until summer

Wow, I was just telling my friends that I want a new Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem, Doom, etc that isn't complete run and gun. I'd love to do a video of this game in action when you are ready as an Indie Preview Video on my YouTube channel, www.YouTube.com/WeiseGuy91. Maybe we can discuss this via PM when you feel comfortable showing it off? I have just under 600 subs right now, but I'm sure that base will grow fast. I know you only have so many testers, but I wanted to definitely reach out as one to do some recording in HD for you!

That may very well be one of the most interesting chainsaws I've ever seen.

It... spins chains, doesn't it look like a chainsaw?

Most chainsaws don't have a pistol grip.

Well that's one awkward chainsaw to carry then. You pretty much have to have it up in front of you, and can't have it really resting at your side without letting go of the upper handle, which personally I would never do, cause of the very damaging effects of chainsaws on flesh

I love the way it sounds and looks and may write an article about it for my blog in the future. Hats off to you, my good fellow.

Playing through System Shock 2 right now and I'm already eager for more! I hope this scratches the itch like it seems to be capable of (and maybe doesn't suffer from the balance issues and other flaws in the original games, even if I don't expect it to be overall better than something a full studio put out at the time). How about some footage, one of the team or testers can do that surely

@Alextended We are actually planning to get some footage but we might as well build a couple more levels before that
