Pixelry

Alpha demo: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31195548/DemoPixelry1.4.4.zip

Alphafunding:
Desura http://www.desura.com/games/pixelry
Indievania http://www.indievania.com/games/pixelry

Alpha Trailer:

Pixelated chivalry?! Joust your way to the top in this medieval RPG. A Knight's Tale with pixels.

Welcome to the world of pixelated chivalry, where your courage, reflexes and fame propel you to reach the dream of every self-respecting knight.

You'll travel to Pixelville to fulfill your greatest dream and to marry the beautiful young princess Arianna Annabelle di Grandigund Hyacinthe. To do this you must prove yourself a capable horseman by winning the King's championship tournament which involves defeating those recognized as the unbeatable knights of the realm, "The Big 5".

According to the King, "whoever manages to defeat them in combat will be a good suitor for his daughter!"

This is an epic adventure with a medieval ambient and the exciting world of chivalry, where you must acquire new and increasingly better equipment to achieve your mission. Raise money by winning jousts organized at the local tavern, then spend that money at the Shop and the Forge to upgrade your armor, weapons and magical potions. You can gain discounts on many of the items by performing well in the mini-games, which include hammering steel, quality checking potions and racing your horse.

As we are using a simple but alluring pixel art style, it means that players can add their own designs to the game! Create your own heraldry, customize your horse and design new armor to intimidate your foe. The hope is that each player can feel like they have a unique character.

Pixelry started off as our entry to the YoYo Games Competition 05 back in March of 2010. We really like what we had created and decided to take it further. Unfortunately, since then the game has only seen a collective development time of about half a year, but now it’s our priority and we’re looking forward to bring in all our ideas for the game.
Ideally we want to add more customization options, multiplayer and extra mini games to add more variety to the game. As the alphafunding model hasn’t worked out too well for us the past year, we’re looking to take the game to Kickstarter to allow us time to work on the game full time and get it finished!

Two of us are working on the game and we’re brothers. Emilio manages all of the programming for our games and I create the audiovisuals - the sprite work, music and other art work.

Emilio has taken part in many open source projects. One of his creations is Stellar, a python version of the popular creation tool Game Maker: https://github.com/Coppolaemilio/stellar But it’s still under development. I’ve also collaborated on other games, most recently I created and released Super Tower Rush: http://www.supertowerrush.com/

You can check out two of our other games that were made for a 48 hour game competition and are unfinished, but they're still fun!:

Hello everyone!!

Crowdfunding Campaign
We have fresh and exciting news!

As you may know we have experienced a few handicaps during the development of Pixelry, but we are now working on a crowfunding campaign that aimes to raise the level of the game to heights that we didn't even expect.

That means a LOT of new things, improvements, features etc...

That's why:
We need YOUR help Smiley

We have determined that the current version of Pixelry will be referred to as the "Classic" version, because what we're working on will be enhanced and different in many ways.

So...
What's your suggestion for a new name?

We have been toiling over titles for this new version such as: "Pixelry - Phoenix, Pixelry - Epic, Pixelry - Squared, Pixelry - Deluxe" and so on, but we feel the community can probably give a a much better solution for it.

So let as know if you have suggestions!

The Pixelry Community
For this new version, we also want a community to get involved in the development, so any new ideas or features, any bugs, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
We planning to have a proper platform to serve this purpose in the near future.

That's all for now!

Hope you are enjoying Pixelry Classic already!

Just picked this up on IndieGameStand. It's interesting. Feels like there's not a whole lot of meat to it just yet.

I also have an odd feeling that the IGS sale will hurt the crowdfunding campaign a bit since you're giving the game to so many people for such a low price.

Good morrow!
Today we launched Pixelry Champions over on Kickstarter and we need all the support we can get. So please spread the word and pledge whatever you can!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/evelendgames/pixelry-a-jousting-focused-medieval-rpg

Now I know what you're thinking and here's the answer: You will get Pixelry Champions for free because you purchased Pixelry during its alphafunding phase. And thank you so much for that!

But we want to make Pixelry Champions the best game it can be and for that we do need the funding. So for a better game please tell everyone you know!

Another thing to note is that you won't get Pixelry Champions if you purchase Pixelry Classic on Desura from this date forward. The only way to get your hands on Pixelry Champions is to pledge an amount over on Kickstarter.

Once again, thanks for you support! We can't wait to get Pixelry Champions in your hands.
