I'm usually not turned on by very straight forward, block pushing puzzle games like this. However your game has shown me that if you want to get me to try playing a game that is like this, making it look and feel like an old Windows 3.1 game is the way to go. I love the "my levels all have cute thematic names even though they are pretty simple, visually" aspect. Something I've always wanted to have in my games too.
Cheers.

Thanks Mate. Your points could be layed out in a negative manner as well. You did the right thing here!

New garden shaping up! Looks kinda german, were I come from--- hmm i am not sure if it's not too crowded now. (imo) I enjoyed the more minimalistic feel of it. (like it could be a GB game or on a small cell phone) but now the flowers are pretty detailed. maybe it's also the gradients in the trees, but i think it's mostly that many "random" flowers. (more like a wild meadow?) maybe regroup them according to their colors?) (hey, where are you from? i am in NRW =) )

Currently Berlin here.
I like the direction it is heading, more like the actual cat perspective. Still no real garden tho, youre right.
Have to take care that I get all of it in a consistent shape. Always pushing it further, then having to follow up on the older parts. Game is basically done, just indulging in my stylistic anxieties now.

Digging the minimalistic vibe here.
It just looks very cohesive... graphic style, atmosphere, gameplay... looking good indeed.

OK, work on the art slowly closing in. Been reworking parts of some worlds and slightly reducing the amount of levels and worlds, all hopefully leading to a more compressed and meaningful experience. The art is now shaping up to be a bit more upfront. Some parts might be less subtle than before, but in the bigger picture it starts making sense to me. The new garden design I showed earlier actually opened this possiblity for me, as the worlds now appear more in the contrast of different perspectives. This is appealing as beautiful to me and solves my previous 'consistency' problem of trying to reach the same quality for every pixel of the game.

Man, Nikolaus. I love your maps so much. I wish each of them was a rug in my home.
Now that sounds more appreciative. ^^ Wasn't sure at first, Ocean is the best so far, isn't it?

I made a nice scrolling animation between world map transitions. The background color is interpolated during the animation. Making a gif resulted in awful flicker, so here some static screenshots. Trust me, the animation looks amazing. In other news, the website is slowly coming along: www.ferdythecat.com

Feel like the water color should be more greenish. Maybe turquoise? At a glance I thought it looked more like a tropical island/lake than a swamp.

Probably something will change there - maybe it is not the water colour.

Much obliged, psy! All the levels. The closer I get to finish this thing, the slower my actual progress is. I am kind of scared.
