Well, I'd always said 2 Jams was a must, and it's not like there's a lack of indies over on the East side of the country or anything (you guys have Fish and Jon Mak, though we've got YMM and Alec).

If Edmonton was agreed as a good place to host, I would definitely take a large role in planning and possibly even hosting (if I must) the Jam. We could probably rent a room at the UofA, especially during the summer.
Getting space during the summer at the U of A seems like a very good (and doable) idea. And I'd definitely be willing to do a lot of the planning/hosting as well!  This sounds awesome. I'm a grad student at U of A, and I probably can find us some space if a jam is held in edmunchuk. I might even be able to convince the powers that be to give us the space for free. Count me in for helping out. My vote is for edmonton - hell yes!

Assuming Chevy's still up for one, that makes 4 of us in town, so closer to the summer we probably should just pick a rough time and say it's happening then, so that anyone else interested can have an easier time choosing whether or not they can make it. I'll be in China and Japan for the first few weeks of May (never been there and very exited to go  ), so sometime other than then would be good. And yeah, the cost of that trip has left me like this  Amazing buildings over there though, so there's definitely an educational aspect to it for me.

Does this have to match up with the next "official" 'Jam, or can we just go for it? I propose early- or mid-May, so all us school kids are on summer break (and it should be easier to get space at the UofA), in Edmonton on campus at the UofA.
Any objections?

OK, I really want to be at this Jam, but I may be in Asia during the first half of May (the odds are really good, unless there's problems with getting the visas by that date). I may be around for very early May (the first weekend), and I'll definitely be around for late April, but I know exams last most of the month (although I have some big projects I'm working on, I don't have a single exam this April, and thus finish really early; I do have to submit a really well made portfolio though). Anyway, I'm insanely exited for Asia, as it's my first time going there; Shanghai for a week, then over to Japan for two  . So...yeah. I should be able to give some definite confirmation within a couple weeks at most. But yeah, I'd really like to be at this Jam.  Oh yeah, and assuming I can go, I have a pretty good projector I could bring. (though I suppose we probably could borrow one at the U of A too; who knows)

Summer break is basically the only big one for me, given that I'm in Winnipeg the rest of the year, and thankfully distracted from that fact by my workload. :D But yeah, I think setting prelim stuff is a necessity at this point if we actually want it to happen.

I'm located in the GTA. I have an aunt who lives out in Edmonton, but due to work it would probably be difficult to get to something like this. Would be really cool, though.

hey guys, we use this for scheduling stuff, particularly jams: http://doodle.com/people filling it out don't need to register, just type their name in a field. It works out pretty well as the barrier to entry is lower and it gives you a nice calendar to figure out the optimal days to plan for.
