UPDATED, 20 July 2013: Links to site instead of particular versions.

Hi folks, I'm working on a sequel to Xong, called "2x0ng" and it's pronounced TWO-zong. The webpage and downloads are at http://blocky.io/2x0ng.html

Here's a pic:

I have downloadable Linux and Windows versions, for your feedback and enjoyment. A Mac version is in preparation.

Solid bricks break and give your bouncing ball their color; dashed lines disappear when hit with a ball of the same color. Get to the purple exit behind the combination lock in the center, and move to the next level. There are 9 randomly generated levels in this release.

For the curious, the original Xong is here: http://dto.github.com/notebook/xong.html

What do you think of 2x0ng?

Another shot:

Found one bug in the Windows version---the graphics go wonky if you resize the window. Working on a fix.

It's as if Robotron and Brick-Out's illegitimate love-child was abandoned at dto's door step and raised to become the heir of Xong.

There's a surprisingly high depth vs complexity ratio (meaning the simple mechanics yield lots of depth).

The introduction new obstacle/enemy mechanics throughout the levels kept me on my toes.
Simple enough for younger kids to play for hours, but challenging enough to keep seasoned gamers interested.

It's got a nice difficulty scale.

This is great man, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Hi, forgot to mention that my engine has a crash issue on 64-bit Windows 7, and that the problem apparently goes away when Service Pack 1 is installed.

Thanks so much VortexCortex, I'm hoping this will be my best release ever.

Hi, I fixed some gameplay bugs as well as made some changes and additions, enough to release binaries and call it 2x0ng version 0.3. You can get 0.3 at the new 2x0ng home page: http://blocky.io/2x0ng.html

Enjoy! --David

I'm working on 2x0ng version 0.4, here's a new video. http://blocky.io/2x0ng4.ogv

By the way, when the 2x0ng beta is ready in a few weeks, I'm going to release it on Desura!

I'll keep you posted. Thanks so much to everyone on #tigirc and other channels, who have given me feedback/comments on 2x0ng!

I'm on Windows, it started to get very slow during level 4 though I have a pretty mediocre comp.

Just a tiny suggestion too, make the restart button just r instead of Ctrl+r. I missed the opening controls the first time around so had no idea how to restart.

Thanks, very helpful! BTW I think I can fix that slowdown, it's still quite early.
I will fix the controls and also add a "how to restart" message that appears when you die...

I'll continue to check this thread in case anyone has feedback, bugs to report, or questions/comments about the game. I'm also on #tigirc as "dto".

Good tip, thanks. Ok, i'll continue to update both whenever there's a new playable version out. And of course when beta time comes around (in a few weeks).
