i should have mentioned this---Story Mode is not in the download, it's bleeding edge new stuff. However 0.8 is the newest version, so it could be that a fresh download will still bring you improvements and surprises. Smiley

I like the gameplay alot. Very unique.

When I move next to a wall the screen starts shaking though.

Thanks TestTrek, glad you enjoy the game. (The scrolling jitter should be fixed by release.)

very cool, i think i like this game even more than xong.

imo, the difficulty could ramp up faster in the first 3 levels and the levels themselves could be smaller though. i spent quite a bit of time just walking around and not actually doing much because the enemies pose no real threat early game and can basically be ignored.

great job otherwise though, keep it up!

Thanks for your feedback Smiley. I'm working on tightening everything up. I'll let you know when I have a new version out.

awesome, looking forward to it!  Coffee

btw, here's a small bug(?) i noticed: sometimes when destroying a block while standing right next to it, my puck doesn't change color.

I have a fix for that, should be all set for the next version. I've been working hard on an 0.9 release and should have it out within a few days.

Version 0.9 is out! http://blocky.io/2x0ng.html

New stuff, music, enemies, completely overhauled random level generator, and more. You should find that the level design has been tightened up considerably, as well as the difficulty level.

awesome, looking forward to it!  Coffee

finally found the time to play the new build.

early game is indeed much quicker now and the enemies seem more aggressive too, or at least they killed me several times which never happened in the earlier version.

my character still jitters around a bit when i move though.

Hi, thanks for checking it out. Yes the game is much more difficult now. How far did you get?
Here's a secret. Pressing F6 will let you restart on the same level after you die, instead of level 1.

I'm working on a fix for the jitter. As always I'll keep you posted.

I think level 6 was my record, but I died in the first 3 levels quite a bit too. Difficulty feels right to me for this sort of game.

Cool. It does get more difficult, let me know what you think of levels 7-18 Smiley and I'll probably be up to 20 by the time of release.

I fixed the player-sprite jittering. It was a mismatch between the window scrolling speed and the player movement speed Smiley Will be in the next build.

I had to download this newest version from your blocky.io site. indiedb.com doesn't always work well for me. I live in Taiwan.

However, I'm looking forward to finally giving 2x0ng a play-through. Your retro + new approach = a shining light of happiness in my heart.
