Hey everyone! Good news... We did it! Thanks so much to everyone for your support! Now comes all the paperwork etc. etc. and then we can go back to making this game! We really want to thank everyone so much. Over the course of the campaign we broke 30000 views on the devlog, then 30500 about a day later, so there are clearly a lot of you who helped make this happen. We might make a post about the Greenlight process, since help from others is what made the process possible for us! More soon!

As Ricky just said, we're through! Here are the final stats: Clearly those last 10 votes made all the difference. So, I'll probably write a little bit about our preparation and media strategy at some stage soon. There's nothing particularly unique about our approach. Getting Greenlit in a week is pretty good, but we may have just launched at a good time. Thanks for putting up with our incessant devlog posts for this past week!

Is this made in Unity?
No actually! We're making it in FlashBuilder, using Aseprite for graphics, Ogmo editor for level design. Ben could give you a better run down than I can about why, but we're looking at unity for future games. Sorry for the 4 month late reply Good job on getting greenlit! Nice to see it :D I highly recommend you check out Duality, it has all of Unity's 2d features without any of the pains that come with a 3d engine trying to be 2d. There is a lack of documentation, but the tutorials on the wiki cover it, and the chat room is extremely active It's also completely open-source, so it's relatively easy to find what you need in the source! Here's a link: https://duality.adamslair.net/

Is this made in Unity?
We're using Adobe AIR and our own custom framework built on Flashpunk (see https://github.com/volticgames/volticpunk). We started this game back when people were, you know, actually still using these technologies. It's given us heaps of control over everything, since it's relatively simple but we battle with AIR quite a lot. Very happy with the APIs and abstractions we use though. I write a lot of C# these days and I've been experimenting with Unity prototypes in my free time, and I like a lot about it. Not sure I love the idea of being so dependent on the Unity team to fix things though. I've also been considering LibGDX or MonoGame but both provide very little compared to Unity and I don't want to spend months writing an engine. I also looked at Monogame, and found it too low-level as well. Like I said in my previous reply to iammonshushu, Duality is a great alternative to Unity. Especially since it's completely open-source, and the dev replies to any of your questions within 12 hours (It'll probably be answered within a minute in the chat as long as the problem isn't too complicated )

Wow, is it January already? Honestly, you take a 5 minute nap... Lots of behind the scenes stuff going on, lots of discussion and work with our musician! We've got some track to show off in the next week or so. Its been slow going sometimes... #gamedevfeelslike Otherwise, we've just been putting more props in the game, prettying up gameplay elements and visuals, adding cutscenes and fixing up others! We've also been improving the visual effect for finding things with which you can interact. Its a tricky issue: each player is a bit different, and will want a different level of hints, so we're trying to make a system that caters to at least most people. Here's a peak: Elevator ConsoleLooking at people's desksBreaking the game...More like it! We're hopeful 2017 will be the Year of The Thin Silence, as we chip away at the final pieces of the puzzle! More soon...

Hi everyone! Great news! We can finally show off some music for The Thin Silence! Our music is being composed by LightFrequency, an amazing artist from Portland, who was introduced to us by Amos Roddy (the artist behind the fantastic music of Kingdom). Check it out on soundcloud:
