Wow, this looks amazing! Impressive particle work! What technology is this? And how did you achieve this highly dynamic look of intermangling smoke clouds? It really looks like it's affected by air movements.

There is a lot of awesome spell and ability effects but I would like to start with this one since I like it a lot. That's healing effect. What do you say?

Hmm... I'm not sure of how I feel about the prominence of the fire. On the one hand, I can see an association between fire and life, which seems appropriate to healing. On the other hand, I tend to associate fire more with ardour or damage, which leaves it feeling a little odd as the primary element of a healing effect. Perhaps if the "healing crosses" were more prominent in the effect, or merged with the fire?

That said, the interpretation may be changed by the context of your game: if fire is always associated with life or healing in the game, or is simply always present in such effects, then it might not look odd at all.

Playing around with hi-res 2D imagery in Game Maker. It's proving tricky (mainly juggling texture groups, and keeping the texture map size down to where most computers won't choke on it...), but I've finally got my imagery to a point where it's coming together pretty nicely:



I'll give the game its own proper post later, but the gist is you sacrifice parts of your body, and your choice of which part affects the gameplay. Here you see a bit of that in action:
