Using simplescreenrecorder at 10 FPS scaled to 480x270 actually yielded pretty great performance, so I think I'll stick with that. Thanks for all the help!

I use Gifcam, if you don't mind a banner at the bottom for the free version. 5 seconds at 30 fps at high quality at 480x270 is around 3MB usually (depends on the scene).

I don't know about 30 FPS. When I first got into GIFs, Internet Explorer imposed a 100 ms delay on each frame, so the maximum framerate was 10. Has that changed?

My version of Gifcam doesn't have any banner, and doesn't even offer a purchase, and the final format is completely configurable (FPS, number of colors, you can even remove individual frames...) Are you talking about the same tool? |

Ops, I mean GiffingTool  I used Gifcam before, switched to GiffingTool having a better quality/compression ration and a mini-editor tool. Example with my current horror prototype:  2.5MB, 30fps at 457x270. It is a complex scenario with a lot of pixel moving, it is a worst case. With Gifcam I expect to be at least 5MB. |
