TRANSPARENCY REPORT 2015

HOW LONG IS EVEN THE OCEAN REALLY GOING TO TAKE TO COME OUT

I did some math.

I ESTIMATE THERE ARE ABOUT 25-30 WEEKS OF WORK LEFT.

(of course, there could be delays, or whatever, things could take longer.)

I think this estimate is on the higher end. I sort of just roughly extrapolated the rate at which Joni is working on the art. I get the feeling some areas will go faster (the gauntlet levels perhaps) because those rely on tile-based graphics more, vs the more difficult work of nature areas which have more detail etc. Also some nature areas are considerably easier to work on because of their geometry.

I also counted : sprites, character portraits, town graphics, a few other dungeon graphics, world map graphics, misc whatever else graphics, and Joni doing level arrangement for a few other levels. There's a lot of work! At this point, I wish that I had a PhD in portrait-making, or something equivalent, to help out.

I guess I didn't count: revising text, miscellaneous text, but maybe I can do that.

I should figure out a marketing plan, but right now I'm working on post-game stuff. I think I'll be able to make a teaser trailer soon.

SO WHEN'S RELEASE?

LATE Q4 2015 to EARLY Q1 2016!!!

(Maybe)
(Clearly I don't think we'd release in Holiday season...)

Bye!

WEEK ONE: THE MARCH INTO THE SEA: INTRO

I'm doing a series, a 30-week long series, of our GOALS FOR THE WEEK.

This week: Joni is working on Nature Area Ralph, Fred, or Wallace.

I'm working on post-game stuff and will try to just get as much done as possible.

My post-game stuff... is a secret.

Right now I'm working on Operation Teal Oliver Octopus. We'll see if I finish that...

WEEK ONE: THE MARCH INTO THE SEA: DAY 2

Joni began on Operation Banana today. (Incorrectly categorized as OPERATION FRED yesterday)

Today I wasted time by making this 3D render of how I imagined ETO's main city being located geographically. It was to be on a small ring island with a giant sinkhole, and the city was on the side of the sinkhole, like this.

Then I worked more on the postgame. It is sort of exhausting. I'll keep going. I think everyone will like it.

WEEK ONE: THE MARCH INTO THE SEA: DAY 3

Operation Banana is going well, I also fixed some bugs and then I worked on some post-game. I'll continue working on the post-game today.

In other news, I am upset about Yoshi not coming out till October. Well, by October I probably won't even care about the game to buy it, so it's okay.

WEEK ONE: THE MARCH INTO THE SEA: DAY 4

progress continues well... good progress on OPERATION BANANA, now joni is beginning OPERATION WAFFLECONE.  perhaps there will be visual documentation today?

I am continuing in the postgame work. I made al ot of progress yesterday, using the MOBILE GAMES special technique passed down from my high school bowling coach. It's where I play a mobile game for 10 minutes when my legs get tired from standing. I endorse this technique when developing your games, it is good for health.

Hello! I am responding to a twitter post which confused me slightly. I am excited about this game even though I am a little unsure how it actually plays.

We've made our way to

WEEK 2: Swimming Across The Ocean

What will be on the otehr side of the ocean? Even I do not know,..

This week I'll keep working on the postgame. I almost finished PHASE 1 of the level design aspect of The postgame, but I still have various coding and music decisions left. And some dialogue. But then I'll do PHASE 2 I guess. hm.

I like your last video.
The game seems very peaceful with the music and the color palette you have there.
I'm curious to play it.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Igor! That video is still recent enough. The art in it is all outdated, as is the the level design, but I believe my discussion of the game is more or less the same - a very dense and thought-out game with wide appeal.

WEEK 2: SWIMMING ACROSS THE OCEAN: DAY 2

Today I finished up a big chunk of the postgame - connecting it. Then I did some scripting and coding things. Joni continues on OPERATION WAFFLECONE
