Cr Editor is Ogre3d engine level editor made with simplicity and ease in mind. The source code will be released later in 2013. The editor codebase could be used in other projects or expanded

Now there's need for some beta testing so if you want to help/try it you can download it on its Beta Page.

Download New Beta 1.1

Load the level in your project using the sourcecode provided or read the xml file!

I use it without problems on a 4.5 years old notebook hp dv5-1080el. The frame rate blocked at 30+ fps. It think it could run well on most pcs. you should try, it's a 25mb download and doesn't require an installation.

@TestTrek: thanks. The goal is to make a very easy to use editor to be used for prototyping or in jams, you should try it. Unfortunately you can't test the level in a game yet, the feature will be added soon.

Ogitor is a more professional level editor for Ogre

-cut-

what did you use to unzip it?It's the shortcut format store inside the rar archive. with winrar I have no problems. Anyway the .exe is in ./bin/release/ in the folder you have unzipped, click on it or create a new shortcut and it should work.

So I tried what you said and now I'm getting this:

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but if I can't run the exe. from the shortcut or the actual source, then there's a problem here. I tried this on both of my laptops and I keep getting the same results so I know it ain't something on my end.

thanks, because this is testing, althought the first one is a really weird problem, the second one should be easy to fix.

Install the visual c++ 2010 redistributable packages (5mb)
x86
http://www.microsoft.com/it-it/download/details.aspx?id=5555
or
x64
http://www.microsoft.com/it-it/download/details.aspx?id=14632

you could need that .dll for games so better having it.  Gentleman

Edit: updated the archive removing the shortcut and adding the manual and msvcp100.dll

New Beta 1.1
Up because some important features have been added.  Gentleman

Download

Now you can save the scene and easily import it in your Ogre project or elsewhere. The file format is xml compatible and the beta includes the loader code. Being an xml file means that is readable, and could be parsed easily. It’s not the fastest option but you can convert it in another format if you want.

Also now you can test the level directly in your project clicking on the “Run button”.

● New Xml file format
● Player launcher
● Default player included
● Objects hierarchy supported
● Editor grid
● User interface refinements
