Hi all! I just found out about this community. I'm a composer/producer/mix engineer and looking to dive into the world of game music this year, both interactive and linear.

Here is some of my work: http://www.danvillalobos.com/reel/

The two playlists at the bottom have instrumental music of various types, including chiptune-esque ones which I hope some of you will like Smiley

Thank you so much! That means a lot. The Mission is one of my favorites from the OST. This album is full of amazing musicians, so if you have Spotify, it's worth a listen.

Hey guys, recently we've finished our first legit trailer for Angry John. Originally, it was intended to be a part of our A MAZE entry but apart from that, the video shows development progress pretty well.

Is weapon building mechanic showed well enough? Do you have any ideas how to highlight that more?

I did music, sound design, whole video editing and this horrible voice acting Smiley

Hey guys, around 2 weeks ago I released the first single from my upcoming album Video Game Music. This is a shortened and remastered version of a 10min track I wrote for Wizfight in 2013 (the devlog for that game is still on this forum I think).
Next up will be a dual single of 2 chiptune tracks Smiley. Thanks so much for checking it out!

I really like Flying Fantasy. The chorus works really well and the runs at the end are a nice touch. A little more reverb might make it more cinematic, but I tend to prefer more reverb.

Great harmonies in these! You nailed the progression in Palindrome, and the dissonances that pop up before the steps to new keys work great .

Really, really interesting instrumentation. I haven't listened to Nier's soundtrack, but now I'm going to. With the chorus it reminds me a bit of Oneohtrix Point Never. Very cool.

Here's a chiptune-ish track I just finished.

And here's an orchestral track I wrote, trying to write in the style of Jeremy Soule

This is a pretty good reenactment of his style! Sincerely. I made a comment on the SoundCloud Smiley

One thing, for the Horn entrance --- I wonder how it'd sound if the strings stayed on a pedal tone/chord and allowed 100% of the moving voice to be in the Horn. Not that it sounds bad here (it sounds great as you made it, sincerely!), but there can be  effectiveness in a lack of movement surrounding a moving/leading voice. Perhaps just a thought for future tracks Smiley

So I made this piece last month. It's intended for a music mod of The Talos Principle, which I may or may not finish. Used a high-pitched string sample and ran it through Renoise Redux. Smiley

Hey folks,

Made a humble homage to Jeremy Soules "Oblivion" OST in light of the 10 year anniversary, and as background music for a friends youtube episode. The episodes not out yet, but the music is. Didn't try to do anything extravagant with it, Oblivion, being such a strong ambient soundtrack, has little powerful themes sprinkled throughout, and I clung to those as I put this together.

Made this for Super Alchemist, it's possibly the first song where I used panning as a way to handle completely all over the place tracks.

Hello TIGForum readers!

My name is Clayton Stroup.  I'm a composer based in Dallas, TX and I have recently started to compose soundtracks for games.  I just completed my first original soundtrack for a Minecraft mod called "Dragon Block C".  The soundtrack is is loosely based on the works of Bruce Faulconer (DBZ composer).  I hope you guys enjoy and I'm always interested in feed back.

Thanks for listening!

Working on a new album at the moment; so far, I've only let one track escape from my clenching dead hand.

I'm going to break the chain of video game-specific music and show a piece I wrote for a city-born chamber ensemble.

When I'm not writing video game music, this is the kind of stuff I work on. I skipped ahead past the opening section, as it's a bit "contemporary" and may be jarring if unprepared to hear this style ^^;
