Guys, other than it resizing all my windows (hate that), it only shows a static screen, and nothing that I press does anything. What's going on?

Would you mind describing or posting a screenshot of this "static screen"? Also, sorry about the whole window resizing thing, I kind of dislike that too. Perhaps I'll change it to open in windowed mode. |

That'd be nice. I at least know that there's a way to make fullscreen not screw with other windows, though, because I've played Game Maker games that don't do it. And here's the screenshot. |

I just changed the game to open in windowed.
Also, Synnah is right: you need to click the arrows to change the number's value. It's that whole "don't count past 8" thing. Were you only referring to the keyboard when you said that you can't press anything? Or will it not allow you to even click the arrows?

Yeah, I didn't think to use the mouse, in fact. Since there are arrow keys there, I thought I was supposed to press them. And when that didn't work, I pressed other keys in the keyboard, but didn't move the mouse. Now I did, though, and I'm confused. Why does the mouse button activate the attack, but the arrow keys move? |

Very much so. I need to stretch my left hand all the way across the keyboard (on this laptop) to reach the directional keys, and it feels weird pressing the mouse button, but moving it does nothing. I think a more standard WASD+some key would have been nicer, or at least having that option.
Nevermind. Despite its usability issues, the game was rather interesting to play. Quite a strange mechanic, and symbolically it was rather otherworldly. I also like that it's brief--all the sweeter.

Thanks for the feedback! And next time I'll definitely go for some better controls, I hadn't considered the fact that some people may not be comfortable with them. |

This game was really innovative, control-wise. It was quite confusing initially, but I got used to it relatively quickly. I'd really like to see something extended done in this format. Very good work  |

I liked the opening of the game, once I had worked out that I could use the mouse in the first screen. It was cool to count past eight, and then find myself a stranger in a world of weird red things going about their business. But the mouse and keyboard shooting didn't really do it for me.
