To everybody in and around Paris, France:

There's a new game dev meetup for anyone currently working or interested in Indie Game Development. The goal is to meet once per month in Paris to network and talk about games.
Here the link: http://www.meetup.com/Paris-Game-Development-Meetup-Group/

Team Sidius Nova consists of two humans working on a battle simulator for a god-like entity to prevent the destruction of earth.

Isn't this redundant with the Paris Dev Night, which is already quite well established? http://parisdevnight.com/

Indie Game Development != video game developer (it include indie game development).
And I don't think there is too much meeting or that this two events compete with each others.

Sure, but it would still be useful to be aware that both exist - choosing the same date for example would be rather stupid. The events don't 'compete' but depending on how they're organized they can either cannibalize or help each other.

You also have Paris Video Game Development Group (http://www.meetup.com/PVG-Dev/) which is well established.
Actually Paris Indie Game Dev Meetup and PVG-Dev have partnered up to schedule the same meetup at the same location the same day at the same time to get as many indie game devs together as possible.

Lot's of people organize themselves via Meetup.com so it's a great platform to get people with the same interests together. The site also limits search topics to 15 so having 2 meetups working together using different keywords extends their reach.

One thing both meetups offer that Paris Dev Night doesn't is that they are open to anyone. Right now Paris Dev Night explicitly states on their website that their meetup is not for students, so if you're somebody who wants to work on an indie project and has got the skills but not the past experience this is a great chance to meet people.

Maybe this meetup will even get some people together to make an awesome game, who knows.

The meetup is back!
The next one is planned here:

https://www.meetup.com/fr-FR/Paris-Game-Development-Meetup-Group/events/vpwzjpyxgbwb/

The new place is cool. It is a bar dedicated to gaming with consoles and PC (and the host allows us to use some to showcase our games).
