Half-life has the best intro ever. Makes the game feel way cooler when you're further in it.

And the warcraft III thingey with the meteor crashing and the infernal standing up is slordig!

Use of this dumpster for the disposal of human remains is illegal.

Hmm. None stick in my mind as being totally awesome, but the intro (and the rest of) Metroid Fusion was great. I really wish Nintendo had done more Metroid games like Fusion.

For favorite intro, I'd have to go with Ecco the Dolphin. You start out frolicking in a cool lagoon, having a jump contest with your pod, and then a hurricane comes and wipes the sea clean, leaving only you to rescue your pod. You don't even know why it happened until about 4 hours of gameplay later at Atlantis.

The beginning of Knytt was quite nice, too.

I like the intro to Riven, but the best part was just after:  You get zapped to this alien world, end up trapped inside a hut that is immediately locked by iron bars, then a guard wanders by speaking surprised gibberish and ends up poison-darted and thrown off a cliff by a guy who frees you by jamming a knife into the opening lever.

Cool.

The start situation of Planescape : Torment was pretty impressive too.

I liked the opening of Baldur's Gate II. Basically this guy has you trapped in a cage, and you have no idea why, especially if you didn't play the first one, and then he beats the shit out of you with magic spells for no reason.

And it just gets better from there. Once you escape you're immediately thrust into a huge and complicated dungeon featuring genies, dryads, and giant steampunk-looking contraptions. And when you finally get out you end up smack in the middle of the biggest city in the game.

The best intro is

. That's exactly how the game was Roll Eyes

The best in game one, are the ones from Super Metroid, and the Sam & Max Episodes.
