We hope this explanation was clear enough!

Yup, great... Thanks for posting that.

I think it's really the hard edges of the water that made it jump out at me as being digital.  Making that edge more subtle might go a long ways.

Awesome artwork!  Thanks for showing your process as well, I'm sure I may find it useful later.

You can never have too many adventure games! Smiley The art is fantastic; I look forward to seeing more of it.

Thank you for your supportive words.
It's nice to meet the independent game creators community. We know we'll learn a lot here!

Here are some answers :

I don't really like the kid's head. Looks like an acorn in the third image.
You mean you don't like the design of the character or is there only a problem on her pose in the 3rd image?
Is the character's face on the title banner OK?
The head it's fine, because I acept it's your stile, but when seen from the side (your avatar/banner) it's ok, but from the front, it looks a bit too squished. But that is just a minor detail. Maybe squeezing it from the sides would make it better (for me).

Again, that is your style and I am artistically blind.

Amazing! Can't wait to see more of this. Absolutely love your watercolour work, been looking at your blog before, very inspirational!
Really? We fell in love with Pavilion at first sight, a few months ago.
You are giving life to a very unique world.
It's a great honor to meet one of its creators. Thank you!

Yes, add me to that! You have the full support of the Pavilion team!  Wink

I was wondering if the character animations will be hand drawn(I hope this) or will you use some kind of "bones" system to easier make the animations?

The art style reminds me of the books they would show on reading rainbow. This game needs LeVar Burton to narrate it :D

Thank you for your messages!

I think it's really the hard edges of the water that made it jump out at me as being digital.  Making that edge more subtle might go a long ways.
OK, we'll have to improve that. Maybe a thin pencil line will help.
We'll post the result!

The characters animations will be hand drawn. We'll write a process post later.
Meanwhile, here is a rought animation test:

Thank you for your support!

PS to DrunkDevs : recently, we played Full Moon Rising and enjoyed it a lot! Thank you for having made this game.

the art is great, but at the same time, the character is a bit of a racist stereotype

the way the eyes are drawn makes the character look a bit like a racist stereotype of a japanese, it's just what I feel, but it's just, like, my opinion man

I know that it's not on purpose, Siskavard. Obviously they wouldn't have made the trip to okinawa and made all the game about it if they were racist.
I'm just saying that the devs might hear that comment and they should be ready to deal with it, becausde the caricature differs from all the japanese caricatures that have been made since after ww2.
