MountainKing

A turn-based/RTS hybrig game of King of the Mountain for the 7dRTS compo.

Woops, sorry!    Fixed link.

The game is inspired by a few old hex war games.

Still to do:

  • unit experience
  • sound fx
  • show fighting somehow
  • improve the map
  • intelligent target selection during fighting
  • music?
  • chat?

You're going to have to include some basic instructions somewhere. I had no idea what I was doing when I tried it out. I didn't even realize that it was online multiplayer for like the first half.

I had major commitments the last few days but now I have a little time to finish it off before the deadline.  I added chat and improved the UI slightly.  Now there are less units to manage and more time to manage them as well.



Still no instructions but maybe with chat it is easier to figure out what the heck it going on?

Woops I had broken chat just before pushing that last version, sorry.

I fixed it and shrunk the map to a more manageable size.  Also, the minimap now shows all of the units in the game.

Well, it is finished and submitted.

It works pretty mush as I designed.  Unfortunately I designed a multiplayer-only game.  This was a mistake.  Players seem to be confused why there are either no opponents or the opponents are acting so strangely.

Next time I will add computer players although that means (erk) programming AI.
