i dont know if this fits in this topic but...
one of the encarta encyclopedias had a "satellites" simulator, or something like that. You had a planet or a sun (i cant remember) and you could add a satellite to it, depending the position and size it would do different orbits or just crash or go away endlessly.
I cant remember which version of encarta was this in, nor the name of it, i cant find it via google nor anything. I'd like to know if this was a separate application, or if i can get hold of something similar to that.
I remember playing with this as a kid and it was kind of interesting to me

Definitely Encarta 95, I remember playing with that for hours on in ( that and Mindmaze...Encarta 95 rocked! ) EDIT: Apparently it was also included in Encarta 96, which I never owned..

Ok so I remember really loving this RPG game but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. It starts with your character being woken in the middle of the afternoon up by his mom, then I can't really remember why but you start going around fighting little stuff etc. The character had pretty crazy spiky hair and he was pretty young, like 15ish. He meets a girl pretty early on and is defending her in less than a minute (she used a rod/staff as a weapon I think).

Isn't it a little bit sad that you could be talking about a lot of different RPGs here? If you generalize it to just "it starts with your character being woken", I believe it covers almost every RPG ever made.

I don't know what to think any more. There's this mix of maybe sincerity and sarcasm and it's making me all flustered.
JR Hill is being silly.

I was going to suggest Chrono Trigger, but she uses a crossbow in obvious deference to RPG tradition (but she's still a healer, which you forgot to mention). Golden Sun 1 is pretty close, but the girl in that one doesn't appear until relatively late, and you really don't defend her so much as team up with her. I challenge JR Hill to actually find a game that combines all the cliches he just suggested. I don't think one exists (unless it was created for the express purpose of being cliche).
While we're sufficiently derailed, I want to take this opportunity to say the preposition at the end of the thread title bothers me. I want it to say "Games of which you can't remember the names" because it is more grammatically correct.

Game where your character is a drunk sys-admin trying to find his way home from work... flash game IIRC. Crazy-ass physics where you could die from falling down stairs, your legs bounced so much. Depressing music played in the background it was.. awesome. EDIT: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Eric_Gurt/dead-drunk-1-3googled "drunk sys admin game" He changed it so you started downstairs.. always difficult to even get down the elevator!

@SirNiko
What about Lufia, I'm pretty sure after the initial Metroiding, you are asleep and get woken up by the girl with the stick that you defend.
Well, no mom though.

Uh-huh. After all, you know the old saying, "This is the sort of English up with which I will not put".

A cartoony learning game. You're a stupid red-shirted superhero with a nerd sidekick. You are on an island and you have to solve science puzzles. One involves transforming into a cow and catapulting yourself into a castle by finding the correct angle and power. One involves mutating an animal in some kind of crazy genetic experiment.

Wow, this thread delivers. Thanks. Now I can sleep at night.
That explains how I came across the game, I had an IBM Aptiva in my youth.

There's this one game where youre trying to save a princess and I think (and I know this sounds crazy) you play as a short, fat Italian plumber. I heard it wasn't that great but the creative premise has piqued my interest. What is this game called?
