Hi TIGSource! My name is Michael Lasch, my studio is [-BipolarDesign+], and this is Paragon!

-----------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------

Promo Video here:

What is it?
Paragon is a precision-timing puzzle game about bouncing a ball around rooms and collecting treasures. Your ball sticks to the horizontal/vertical rods placed in each level, and jumps off when you press a directional key, bouncing about diagonally until it hits another rod. The object of each level is to collect all of the treasures scattered about without getting impaled on any spikes! The scoring, presented by Star Ratings on each level, is based on how little you hesitate: each time your ball hits a wall while stuck to a rod, your score is impacted (except for before you first jump, where you can wait as long as you like). For the best score you must keep it moving!

Check out the video linked above for a better explanation on how to play the game Smiley

It's a remake?
The original DOS game "Paragon" was released in 1994 on a SoftDisk Monthly 3.5 inch floppy disk monthly subscription. My dad had a subscription to this, and I couldn't get enough of this particular game, so I decided to get a hold of the copyright holder and now I'm making an official remake!

Who's making it?
Paragon features artwork designed by James Shasha, and multi-layered music by Ex Machinae (you can download Paragon's soundtrack here!).
I'm working on coding, extra level design, and everything else! My website can be found here: [-BipolarDesign+], and my Twitter account here: @BipolarMike

Thanks for checking out my game, I hope you like it! <3

It's a shame that I never heard of this game when I had a DOS computer. Although, this remake looks promising. Keep up the good work.  Well, hello there!

I hadn't heard of this game back in the DOS days either.  Looks interesting, anyway.

New gif! This is level 1-2, played like a BOSS! Pro score ftw!
Also I've added in arrow key input visualizations to help explain how the controls work Smiley

Just finished what I hope is the final build of Paragon!!!

I will be releasing on itch.io in the next week or two, as soon as I get all my marketing e-mails sent out, etc!

Also please don't hesitate to ask if you'd like to try it out!! It never hurts to have more testers and feedback! But I can't risk a leak (hence the no-download-link). Paragon was found by what appears to be a Polish website, and they put up an alpha download without my permission. Not a big deal since it was up here publically on TIG anyway, but I'd rather that not happen with my final build Smiley

Oh and here's Paragon's Readme file if you're interested :D http://pastebin.com/WvcVm6jg

This looks awesome. It's also really neat that you got permission to do it as an official remake.

I'm working on the demo right now, stay tuned!

Yeah! Other than working on contractual details, it was surprisingly easy to contact and ask for use of their i.p. Just goes to show ya, sometimes all you have to do is ask!

I made a Flappy Jam entry using mechanics and assets from Paragon! It uses the same "ride rails, jump off at the right moment" gameplay, but in an infinite scroller setting Smiley

Check it out here (PC and Android):
Paragon Infinite

note: Android version is still a bit buggy, consider it a beta!
