I used to think youtube embedding wouldn't bring anything good, but threads with tons of huge animated gif are starting to become a bit annoying, so why not

Agreed! Maybe have a way for users to turn it off for themselves if they think it's that much of an issue? |

Why not just video linking in general? Like, say, a *.WEBM video, *.OGV, or some other format HTML5-compatible? What about those who choose not to support YouTube for ethic reasons?
