- You may not upload captures of video games or gameplay, even if edited. Machinima videos with a story are allowed, but must be labeled as such in the video description to avoid accidental deletion.
- Video game developers may post videos of their work in development, provided they cite their involvement in the video description (maps and mods to commercial games are not allowed). No commercial video game trailers are permitted.

i wouldn't trust them even if it was a wip video, they've taken down video game related videos randomly, even if they fit the guidelines, and it's fucked over a lot of people (taking down the video during a release week / promotion thing / whatever)

YouTube embedding would actually be pretty nice imo. Especially for devlogs.
This! I think having to post tons of animated gifs is getting silly, specially because of how much it punishes slow connections (like when I browse from 3G mobile phone with data limit) |

I've just knocked up a little solution that should allow youtube videos to be embedded without the noise: http://jsfiddle.net/oodavid/u638frjx/- Automatically uses a static thumbnail image - no iframe or video tag or flash
- When clicked, replaces the image with the standard youtube iframe
- 3-lines of pure javascript needed
- No javascript? Just links to youtube

Right, I think I have the install.xml file all A-OK but I'll need to setup and try it on a local version of SMF when I get a few hours free.
