Yo! I love the dark, subdued colors you've got going on, though some more would really make it pop. Hopefully gunfire and flames and stuff will help there. As for the video, it seems like the robot moves too quickly. I think it would also help if the robot only moved forward when it was taking steps (when walking); that way, it would seem more like it's moving under its own, massive weight, rather than just gliding along.

I agree, the robot looks way too light. Beside that it looks gorgeous.  Hand Thumbs Up LeftKiss

They have not showed any real gameplay yet, only 2 videos showing animations  Huh?

Game looks stunning, but I agree with the above guys - robot looks like he's sliding over ice. You'll probably need an intricate movement system to get it feeling just right.

I've been keeping an eye on this for a while and I think this game's art direction and execution is exceptional. I'm very interested in your team's progress with this project. Concerning the recent video I was hoping for some action, however I was surprised to see another robot. Anyway, hello, I'll definitely be paying attention to this.

Thanks for the replies and the new footage.

It seems to me that the legs of the hero power armor seem to move on an oddly flat plane (suggesting less depth), in contrast to the upper part of the body (torso/arm/head; more depth). With legs crossing over while walking in a somewhat technically impossible fashion, given the machine parts the legs apparently must consist of - can they realistically "scissor-intersect" in the way depicted?

Looking forward to more! Cool stuff.

Looks kind of like the torso is floating with anti gravity and the mech only needs legs to pull itself along the ground, not to stay standing.

Which would kind of work as a technobabble explanation for platformer jumping physics, too.

I think the walk cycle is great, the only problem is that it's not synced with the move speed so it seems like he's walking on ice. But the animation itself is great, gives a sense of a lightweight, super fast, hydraulic mecha. The kind that makes TSAP-TSAP-TSAP noises when running.

@SolarLune @Lucs @eigenbom @DarthBenedict @Netsu

Hi dudes!! Thanks a lot for the feedback  Smiley

okay, you are totally right.

First, we are going to try tweaking the values for this to slowdown the movement. Also, we want to implement (when we have the time U_U) a few things to help integrate the mc into the ground, the first is acceleration curves (I think we talked about this in the past ) so, you will move faster when you reach the momentum state and slowly at the begining and at the end of the movements. Just something subtle to give the right feeling.

Same for the frame speed of the animations themselves. A little camera movement delay to make it more smooth in the transitions. And the last thing, shadows and dust interactions (as you can see in the mech below) on the floor.

After all of this, if the mc still looks like it's floating or sliding, for sure I will have to retake the base of the animation.

Welcome @Zav! Thank you for registering and giving us support! SmileySmiley

@Skomaka'n Thank youuuuu! Tongue

@sephi_6 ahahah >D

@Rebusmind Glad you like it Smiley

@Skippi Thanks!

@Artifice Machine @Fervir  yeah, we would like to show you some real gameplay, but we need more time ^_^U Thanks for your comments!

@chevkoch I think this is because I was trying to fake all the characters in the game by posing them in 3/4 profile, no just full profile. In that way, the leg in the background is totally parallel to the screen and the other leg is facing the player. It's a bit tricky to do, at least for me.

And here, two extra details for you ( I don't feel like it's a final version, but....well, you know, no time blablabla)

Thanks, Skydsgaard. I can see what you are describing, makes sense. I wonder what the walk cycle and animations in general will evolve into.

That boss mech with its big-brother, wide-shoulders, no-neck intimidation attitude. Love it.
