Nah, when I said the three blocks were occupying the exact same position, I meant it.  Depth and everything, they just fell right into one another.

I think blocks are the most buggy thing about the game, though, so I just kinda accepted it.  I managed to straight-up crash the game once just by throwing blocks around where I was standing...

What do you meant by "missing net of a cube", though?  Was I supposed to create a cube pattern that wasn't listed on the tablet in the background, then?

Yes, there's one way to 'unfold' a cube that wasn't depicted.

I figured out the alphabet without the dog/fox room

I used the sign with two four letter words right next to the warp gate and those 7 letters helped me to decode some other stuff for the rest. The sign by the first gate says "warp room" and I noticed the two identical letters and realized it wasn't "warp gate". But then one of the other ones had a sign with the non-double letter word the same and the second letter (a) was the same so I guessed it was "warp gate" and the other was "warp" something else. Turned out I was right.

When I found out about the "proper" method, I was pretty proud of myself for doing it my way.

That's incredible. Must have felt really great when you figured it out.

Heh, nice!
I didn't find the dog/fox room until well after beating the game, so my friend and I figured out the alphabet by talking to people in the city of Zu.  We first figured out H and A from an old man saying "ha ha ha", then used that to get a few more letters out of "he" and "the" being in the same dialog box... and then my friend just straight up decoded "where did you get that hat".  It was pretty amazing.

After that it was just figuring things out bit by bit.  I think I was only missing 3 letters by the time I found the dog/fox room.

The city of Zu was where I went after the warp gates, and the first message I decoded there was "how do you do". Now that I think about it, I got that with only the letter W.
