Sweet! Being Canadian, TeamQuiggan should know all about lumberjacks*, as forestry is a big industry here! *most Canadians don't actually know much about lumberjacks

I know that the Log drivers waltz pleasures girls completely.
I've got this beast started, I plan on using C++ with the SDL, so our friends on other platforms can play it, also because I wanna learn some SDL. I've used the tutorials from the dude who did Super Mario War as a jumping off point, I'll have to do a pile of re-writing to make it more object oriented.

This mockup looks awesome, I love the background style and color palette I know that the Log drivers waltz pleasures girls completely.

Some tutorials: http://lazyfoo.net/SDL_tutorials/index.phpI wrote simple game using C++, SDL and OpenGL and they were really helpfull. Also: first post. I've been a lurker for a long time, it's about time to level up to manbaby.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw your avatar... Kurt Russell in Big Trouble in Little China. Now I want that movie as a game in this style or at least a new adventure of Jack Burton. Keep up the good work!

If you ever want the power of OpenGL but still use the 2D functionality of SDL. You might want to take a look at glsdl ( http://olofson.net/mixed.html), which wraps many of the SDL functions with an OpenGl backend.

Hey man! I just found this thread again, and it's been inactive for quite a while. This project was awesome! Are you still working on it?

The status is... well, on hiatus. Just had a much needed upgrade, enjoying that. That and I'm trying to recover the game files. I will be working on the game, and post about any major updates. Don't expect me to give away any important plot points, though.

Get used to us asking about progress reports, Renton. If you don't post random shit about your game every day, we'll tear you to pieces!

Get used to ignoring you, Renton. If you don't post random shit about your game every day, we'll understand and let you focus on making the fucking game! Fix'ed.

Just a suggestion: Recently I was reading on Wikipedia about the sort-of-mythology created by lumberjacks in the US and Canada. In particular I really liked the variety of animals they invented: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fearsome_crittersIf you don't mind slipping away from realism somewhat, it would be really cool if you included some of these in the game. I hope you don't take this as me telling you how to make your game I get unreasonably worried about that sort of thing. Like I said, it's just a suggestion.

Right now, I don't really want to include any supernatural being into the game. I do like the idea, however. In a spin-off, maybe...
