Ok, so I just uploaded my old game to launchpad. Zipped exe along with data can be found here.

If you want the source (you need bazaar) type in console:

Code:
bzr branch lp:pyroids

Project page can be found here. Its written in python, using pygame. So if you want to run the source, you need those libs.

Now Im looking to update the graphics with some funky sprites found in this thread!  Durr...?
Saw a nice looking ship and space-ish background in that shmup post. But no asteroids so far, anyone feel compelled to draw some?

Next step is to write some nice background code to handle that nice background sprite.  Smiley

Hope noone minds bumping a dead thread...

The assets here are really good, I'd like to encourage any other artists with work they aren't using to post it here. Some of the art has disappeared in the thread as well, if the respective artists could re-upload it that would be appreciated.

I started working on a game using Annabelle's graphics on page 2, however I am super lazy and have not finished it yet Sad

Here are some pics

PAK-9, that looks cute. I encourage you to finish it!

Here's something I've done this evening:

Featur McBird (flash game)

You, Featur McBird, the last giant red sparrow left, are being chased by women in swimsuits. Survive by tricking them into shooting each other or jumping on them à la Mario!

Meh, the game is not as fun as the awesome bird sprite suggests, but give it a try just in case you like it:
http://www.sumamimasen.com/sm/files/Featur/ (flash)

And here's the code (awfully dirty and lazy) in case anyone wants to use it as a base for something (or improve/remake this game):
http://www.sumamimasen.com/sm/files/Featur_Mc_Bird.tar.gz (Flex project folder)

Oh yes, there is a weird bug that sometimes changes your position while jumping... but I'm too lazy to fix it.
And the game is... ridiculously hard... Big Laff

PS: I'm looking at the screenshot now and I think this game would be actually fun if the screen went scrolling right while you ran away from your enemies...
