Epic Pinball is the best pinball game ever created. I loved the Android the most.
It was neat, but I preferred the Digital Illusions games. And Psycho Pinball. Seconded. I liked Pinball Dreams/Fantasies and Psycho Pinball a fair deal more than Epic Pinball, although I still found it to be a nice diversion at the time.

I'm enjoying Rock Band 2 right now. That counts as a megagame, right? Is it not retro enough to be spoken of?
Also, I'm still trying to make my way through 200 hours of Oblivion.

I always thought that this thread was about games developed by Epic Megagames.

Epic Megagames was cool, but they became less cool when they lost the 'Mega' part, which happened sometimes after Unreal. It makes sense though, Unreal was a 'mega game' - probably the biggest 'straight' FPS i have played so far - and everything after was was dwarfed in comparison.

Unreal had a really grand sense of scale. It even beats out a lot of the huge parts in Serious Sam and that had some really large areas. Because SS was a game which had large arenas but not a game that was 'epic' in scope.
I went back to it just today using the OldSkool mod for Unreal Tournament which lets you play the game in the UT engine with the option to use the UT weapons. You do lose one or two graphical effects and you really notice how weak the weapons are compared to the UT ones so it's not an exact experience (though it's very close). I'd rather play it this way than in the old engine because it's more convenient to have it right next to all the mods I play, and I can't even remember if there were any Unreal mods that didn't have new versions or were done better by totally separate mods for Unreal Tournament.
And it puts the "Mega" back into the company.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 had some really stupid design problems. I still can't believe some people actually liked the deathmatch map Battle1. All you ever had to do was use the (very obvious) secret warp, grab the Seeker Power-Up, then spam Seekers everywhere. But it did have some neat demoscene-style effects.Especially this logo.

Malvenious Havershim. I went back to it a year ago, thinking, "Man, that was an awesome game". He shoots lasers from his chest. No animations needed. Clip-art enemies. Pretty great.

How has Jill of the Jungle and ZZT not been mentioned so far. Jill was great because it was a tough chick in the 80s and ZZT... we'll it's ZZT. Got a nod on the front page not to long ago.

and that's just not cool. I wouldn't know Most of my point was that Unreal and Unreal Tournament have been conveniently available for that amount of money for a while. I suppose I should get around to picking up Unreal anyway. Still haven't played it (only Tournament) and I seem to be going through an FPS period now...

JETPACK!! And all the 7 Commander Keen games. Ohhhh, One must fall of course too. And Stonekeep!
Ehh, I was too young to play vidjagames when we lived the 90's, but ha-HA, I've learned about that stuff later on! And LOVE it.
