I wanted to make something cthulhu-esque, but then I saw everyone else is doing those or weird zombie stuff... this competition needs a fantasy-themed entry.

The man who would not sleep—dares not sleep—takes drugs to keep himself awake.
Finally falls asleep—and something happens

This will be a short jRPG-style adventure done using Rpg Maker XP.
You'll play as the companion of the man who can't risk sleeping.
Most of the plot'll be about him trying to stay awake, but RPG enemies tend to eventually throw sleep status around

No one dies, the world doesn't need to be saved, but something much crueler happens...

I am also going with that "dares not sleep" prompt for my game. It realy apeals to the late night basement game dev in me. I like the art style. Are you going to try and contrast cutesy images with disturbing subject mater? Not enough games do this.

I have no idea what the white thing is supposed to be, but yes, it's an egg in the game. There's also a battle with potatoes

I'm going to try, but writing disturbing stuff isn't my best area.

It'll probably turn out as "wtf" in a kinda creepy way, which might be even better!
